Okay so this is my first awards book, but I can't seem to find many where the person who made the awards is still active
So I decided to make my own awards book!
I can tell this is going to be a disaster, but how am I supposed to learn from my mistakes if I don't make any?
If you are reading this and are still interested, I thank you for putting up with me.
Now, onto what this is about.
There will be judges for each genre, the number of judges varying on how many participants and judges of that genre submit a form.
The judges will judge the participants based on a rubric I will post. The judges will PM me the results and at the end I will announce the three top winners.
This awards book will be up all of summer (unless slots fill up beforehand). If it isn't filled up by then, I'll just unpublish this. (Which is probably what will happen because I'm terrible with getting the things I publish getting noticed)
I'm sorry if this isn't "professional" enough for you but I'm just a 16-year-old at the end of sophomore year with dreams of becoming a writer and a life in school theater. Password for participants is your favorite book/series and why. I'm not the best at writing but I keep trying. Also it's past midnight as I'm writing this and I'm not in a "professional" mood.
Rules:
1. Give me a follow and whoever your judge is. I know this is just asking for a follow but maybe you'll learn to like what I publish?
2. No bribing the judges. There will be no bribery or bullying of any kind here. If I hear of you doing either of these you will be disqualified from The Apricity Awards. That kind of behavior will not be tolerated nor bragging to other participants or bringing them down.
3. Add this book to your Library and Reading List(s). This is so you can get all updates from this and also so people who look at your reading lists can discover this.
4. Post an announcement on your message board about this. So all of your followers can discover this. Like I said before, not very great at spreading the word about what I publish.
5. Don't be a sour loser. This kind of goes with rule 2 and it kind of goes without saying. If you lose, don't make a big deal about it. There are plenty more awards out there and you can always adjust your story to make it better so next time you'll have a better chance of winning.
6. No hating on the LGBTQ+ community and no hating on people of other races. This awards will not tolerate any hate. I understand some people don't agree with the LGBTQ+ community and that's fine, you don't have to. I just ask that you don't call anyone out or hate on anyone who is in or likes this community.
7. Do not submit a form for more than 2 stories of yours. You can submit two stories but they can't be in the same genre, you need to give others a chance of winning, too. Password for judges is your favorite author and why. Also you are able to be a judge and a participant just not both in the same genre since you can't judge you own story.
8. Story requirements. Your story must have under 1k likes and under 3k reads. This is more for stories to be discovered, not to award someone with an already popular story. Oh and your story must be written in English originally, not translated or anything. The story you submit must be at least 5 chapters long not including the prologue or cast pages. Short stories must have at least 2 chapters and Poetry books must have at least 5 entries.
9. Follow all of the rules or you won't be accepted. I want as many people to be accepted as possible but I won't accept you if you don't follow the rules. There are rules for a reason.
Thank you for reading all of this and if I missed something please tell me. I'm definitely open to feedback since I've never done this before.
Now onto the forms.
