I sip my last bit of champagne from my crystal clear glass and set it down at the table I've been residing by the entire night. Exhausted and rather bored, I carefully glance over from the table allowing my eyes to dart across the room in search of something of my appeal. Racing my eyes over the tackily decorated and suffocating space in my opinion, there was nothing new to offer just as there typically wasn't, and as always, this made my job more difficult and put a real damper on my mood (not that I wasn't already feeling like total shit). It was the same overly pristine white walls with oddly shaped trimmings, waxed wooden flooring that was so slippery one misstep could directly lead to a quick trip but an embarrassing journey into the triangular tables adjourned with food dishes and decorations alike (both rather distasteful), and not to mention the obnoxious set of gold framed photos set upon easels around the room that hadn't brought forth any "new" ideas that I hadn't already seen at any previous gatherings in the past few months. And don't get me started on the bloody chandeliers that hang much too low, causing the already crowded room to feel smaller. So pretentious! I've just about given up my search when suddenly my restless eyes settle on a pair of dark forest green ones. They belong to a man of height and great presence I notice as I start to trail my focus away from the ever so intriguing set of eyes, observing their owner. He's dressed in an all black suit with a single white stripe lining the side of the pants. His fitting suit jacket is left open revealing that his shirt is slightly unbuttoned as well, showing off his sleek, silver cross necklace that lays gently across his collarbones and ending just above his chest. The outfit is complemented by his all black chelsea boots, and full head of mid-length curls. But none of it compares to the beauty of his facial features. Clean cut jaw, defined bone structure, pointed nose, soft pink lips (currently forming a smile, exposing the man's added feature of dimples), arched brows, and delicate eyelashes all surrounding the most prominent feature of his forestry eyes. Oh how I do find his eyes to be quite beautiful. Just as I've finished my observation, the man takes notice of me as well, and immediately starts to head towards my direction. As if it were an instinct, I straighten my back, and subtly flatten out the ends of my deep grey suit. Clearly the man with forest eyes isn't hesitate about approaching me with his stride of determination, so neither should I be. After all, I was the one who was getting bored and wanted - no needed - something interesting to happen. This was it. This prince and undeniably handsome man was it. My something interesting for the night.
~
"Hello, you're Louis Tomlinson correct?" the forest-eyed prince asked me upon approaching my table with a warm, gentle smile; his dimple was just slightly less prominent, but still there of course.
"I am, and you are...?" I trailed off finding myself to be quite curious of the prince's name and his reason for speaking to me. Curious about my something interesting.
"Harry Styles, a new design intern at WONDERS," he answered easily just before continuing on, "I've heard that you're the best journalist here and I'd love it if you could take a look at some of my work. I of course don't expect you to turn any of what you see from me into material for your article, but I could use some opinions and fresh perspectives."
This took me back a bit, and my previous combination of boredom and still current exhaustion wasn't helping me properly acknowledge anything he said to me right away. I didn't falter from his words for long though, and I responded with the need and intention of keeping things going. My something interesting had just become more interesting with his princely request to have me study his work.
"Well if you heard that I'm the best journalist, then you heard right. I wouldn't be an honest man if I didn't say I was slightly intrigued by your want to have me take a look at your work, but to that I do have to ask, why only have me study your work and not ask of me to write about it as well? Most designers demand to have their projects written about."
"Best journalist here, in the room."
"I beg your pardon?"
"I said I heard you were the best journalist here, as in the room, not out of everyone ever," the forest prince, or Harry now, said in reply to my momentary confusion. "And I don't care for having my designs written about just yet. All I want is constructive criticism.""Why?" I asked again, more simply. Interesting just turned more into confusing from where I was standing. This was very different from what I was usually asked of, especially coming from WONDER interns and upcoming fashion designers. So here I was standing in a dreadfully crowded room whom someone had decided to place low-hanging chandeliers and triangular tables in, confused by a forest prince who wanted nothing more than my opinions and thoughts. Interesting.
"Well if you really must know, I'd like some self-assurance before I go about having my designs out there, written about and truly seen. I promise all I want is some constructive criticism from the best journalist in the room." He couldn't hide his dimpled smirk from me. Not even the room's gold painted roses in vases of curious shapes placed around the room could distract me from that.
"Alright," I replied, casually ignoring his small jab at me, twisting my spine just a tad to reach for my empty champagne glass to place it on the tray of the waiter standing besides me, offering the prince and I another glass. "I'll look at your designs."
A/N:
Hi guys! for those of you who don't know, my name's lizzy and I'm super excited to be writing this story! this first chapter is very short but that's because I wanted to get it out quickly for those who asked me to write a story with this storyline idea. I hope that it doesn't seem too rushed and that everyone enjoys it. I try my best!
I also didn't want to write too much cause I wanted to make sure this is something everyone would be interested in and be sure that it's worth writing.
also, if you follow me or have taken a look at my account, you may have noticed I have another story I am currently writing. I had stopped working on it cause this school year has kept me busier than expected and I thought it would be best to step back and plan out the story better anyways (I created a character chart, plot graph, and detailed timeline lol) after I finish this story which should be on the shorter end, I'll get back to that story and hopefully after that start on the other storyline ideas I have (I have sooo many good ones I'm excited for y'all don't even know)!
anyways, again I hope you enjoyed and I'll update when I can. Please feel free to give me some feedback and thoughts! I ask of it just like harry. I love you all and don't forget to tpwk :))
