Suffocation burns the heart, the lungs, the veins pumping your blood. The oxygen refusing to get to your head making your brain throb against your skull. The pain is unbearable until it's not. When all turns black and you feel nothing. Nothing but the emptiness of the shell your soul has abandoned. That's what it feels like. That is how Delilah Justine Hale describes her disorder. Suffocation without the bag, clothe or pillow. Drowning without the water. A panic attack. She was 5 when her house burned down, with her entire family excluding her father brother and aunt. The day Kate Argent declared war on the Hale family. The day innocent children lost their lives. She would never wish that feeling apon anyone. Including Kate. She doesn't want people to feel the pain and loss she felt. So she took it away. Of course they still missed their family but they were calm instead of destructive and broken. All except Delilah, the young girl took her father and brothers pain and entered it into herself. Being an Empath was helpful at times but very tiring as she always felt other emotions when she could barely handle her own. If anyone was completely screwed up in her immediate family, it was her. Diagnosed with Anxiety and Depression at the age of 5 while her 6 year old brother was simply grieving. Her father formed a permanent scowl on his face unless only around Austin and Delilah. Her father had always been short tempered but tried to hide it from his kids, which never worked for Delilah.
"Do we have to go back Dad?" 14 year old Delilah asked. "Yes hun, aunt laura is missing and we need to find her" Delilah sighed before looking back at her phone. Her Instagram had many followers as at her old school she was quite popular, she even skipped to Austin's grade. They pulled up to the burned hale house and walked in. There were 3 mattresses upstairs in different bedrooms so each took one before going to sleep.
*time skip to school*
Austin and Delilah got up early and began doing their morning routines. Luckily the shower still worked. Delilah put on a pair of ripped jeans with a tank crop and pair of ankle boots. She grabbed her wolf necklace and dragon earrings putting them on before straightening her naturally curly hair. She put winged eyeliner and mascara on before brushing her teeth and rubbing out of the house. Unlike her dad and brother she didnt have a nice car, she had a motorcycle. She put her maroon beanie on before her bike helmet and took of her brother following behind in his Corvette. Once they got to school they parked and walked to the doors. Delilah took a deep breathe before feeling her brother shove her shoulder playfully. She rolled her eyes before she saw a girl near the doors of the school on her phone. They walked into school her following behind, getting their schedule and walking to a class they all surprisingly had together. "Class we have 3 new students, Allison Argent, and Austin and Delilah Hale." The principal said before leaving. Delilah glared at the Argent girl until Austin shook her shoulder. She huffed before sitting near the back. The teacher drowned on but she zoned out thinking thinking about  her family. She wondered what her sister Ava would be doing right now if she were alive, would her dad be happier if it was her instead of Ava. She knows she wishes it was. Her heartbeat began to  unsteady as she over thought of no one actually wanting her. She was shaking and felt as if she couldn't breathe. She shook her head to get rid of the thoughts but only made her dizzy and lightheaded. She hadn't noticed the concered look from 2 boys, one who heard her heart beat and the other who knew exactly what was happening but didnt want to cause a scene. Austin looked over at his sister seeing her squint her eyes tightly shut as if to block out the negativity. She pulled her hair in front of her face before turning and digging her wolf claw into her thigh. Taking a deep breathe she put her head back up and her normal brown eyes shown before she sent a small smile to her brother. Stiles let out a breathe of relief when he noticed she calmed down before turning back and talking to Scott.
