Chapter 1
July 23, 2005 – at 2pm in the afternoon.
"Crap! I'm gonna be late and it's our first date together!"
Ryder talks to himself as he puts on his navy-blue flannel shirt that has a white tank top inside of it, leaving the flannel unbuttoned. Paired with his black jeans and dark brown shoes, he stares at himself in the mirror. You would think that Ryder would've dressed casual for his first date with Olivia but he has a reputation of serving the bad boy look, simply because it's his college era.
"Looks good to me." He shrugs to himself as he proceeds to go to his well-lit bathroom to fix his hair.
Facing the rectangle mirror in front of him, he brushes his hair while being fascinated by what he is doing. Ryder's been known at his college as the good-looking guy who is overly obsessed with his hair, that's why he takes his time in doing it. Finishing up his hair for what felt like an hour or two, he finally touches up by spraying his Saint Laurent M7 Perfume in the air while he catches the scent with his body, this way the perfume's smell is not too strong nor too faint.
He puts on his favorite watch and grabs his wallet to stuff it down in his back pocket. Feeling his body tense, he walks out the front door and locks it on the way out. Being welcomed by the perfect sunny breeze, he happily sighs to himself,
"I hope I don't mess this up."
Sitting out on her front porch is Olivia Monroe, patiently waiting for Ryder as he was supposed to arrive 10 minutes ago. Olivia decided to wear her favorite yellow sundress that reaches just the top of her knees, with a little bit of puff sleeves on each side. This was her lucky dress, almost nothing goes wrong when she's wearing it.
The weather today is a perfect timing for a picnic date out on her front lawn. After indecisively picking a perfect first date, Ryder and Olivia both decided on having a simple picnic date that's close to Olivia's home so it feels much more relaxing for Olivia.
Sitting in her front porch to what feels like an eternity, Olivia sees Ryder from a distance. Out of timidness, she stands up because it felt too awkward to sit down while watching someone slowly walk up to you. As Ryder approaches, she notices that he's holding something in his back.
"He's definitely not good at hiding." Olivia whispers to herself as she smiles, Ryder being much closer now.
"Hi," Ryder happily sighs as he gives Olivia the reason why he's 15 minutes late. Chrysanthemum flowers, Olivia's favorite.
"How did you know?" Olivia says as she takes the flowers given to her.
