4. Back to Sparta we go

Kassandra and Kyra were on the beach where they shared a special moment together, enjoying each other's company as they always do, sharing stories like the old days.

"God, I never laughed this hard in ages" Kyra said with a smile on her face "It's nice" She leaned on Kassandra's shoulder.

Kassandra wrapped one arm around Kyra's shoulders "I've missed this so much" She let out a sigh, looking up at the birds flying in the sky.

"I missed it too" Kyra agreed "I wish this moment will never end" She added not wanting Kassandra to ever leave her side again, that's when Kassandra had a crazy idea.

"Come with me back to Sparta" Kassandra said out of the blue. "You mean leave Mykonos" Kyra looked at Kassandra like she was crazy, Mykonos was her home, she never once thought of leaving it.

"What else do I mean?" Kassandra asked a rhetorical question, because that was obviously what she meant. "Mykonos is my home, I don't know if I'm ready to leave it yet" Kyra said a little nervous and well..scared to leave Mykonos, a place she's always called and known as her home.

"Well, you can make a new home with me, my mater and brother Alexios" Kassandra held her hand in hers, making Kyra look at her "Plus I want you to meet them" She told her.

"I would love that, but.." Kyra still wasn't sure if she wanted to leave Mykonos. "But nothing " Kassandra lifted up Kyra's chin "Mykonos would be fine, you're a great leader besides I'm sure Praxos your trusted friend and solider can take care of Mykonos for a bit while you join me and my crew back to Sparta" She said, not taking "No" for an answer, she wanted Kyra to see her home and maybe sail to places Kyra hasn't visited yet.

"Okay, alright" Kyra agreed, well not like she had a choice, but then again..She was both nervous and excited to leave Mykonos, and know Kassandra's side.

"Great, we'll set sail first thing tomorrow"

It was the next day, Kyra was at the Alter of Artemis, she was praying to the gods for a safe journey to Sparta and other journeys wherever the sea will take them.

When Kyra was done praying, she joined Kassandra and her crew at the Adrestria, before she boarded the ship, she took one last look at Mykonos, saying a silent goodbye to her home.

"Welcome aboard Kyra" Barnabas greeted Kyra. "Glad to be here..." Kyra hugged Barnabas still feeling a bit nervous.

"Don't worry I'm sure Kassandra and I , plus the crew will take good care of you" Barnabas reassured Kyra, which made her feel a bit better;I mean it sounds better when Barnabas says it.

"You ready?" Kassandra asked as she took Kyra's hand, once she joined her at the helm of the ship.

"As ready as I'll ever be" Kyra took a deep breath. "Well, what's your command Captain?" Kassandra gestured to the front of the helm. "Are you serious?" Kyra asked not so much believing that Kassandra would let her sail her ship.

"I trust you" Kassandra said as she leaned against the railing "Right Barnabas?".

"Of course, anyone can sail a ship, especially when they put there heart and mind to it" Barnabas agreed.

"So Captain, are you ready to set sail?" Kassandra said gesturing over to the open sea that hides all the mysterys to uncover.

"Ready as I'll ever be, I guess" Kyra said, taking one look at Mykonos before commanding the crew to undock the ship and set sail to Sparta.

Kyra was at the top deck while the others were down in the hull of the ship, she wanted a little time to herself, she actually still couldn't believe that she's sailing with Kassandra the eagle barrier herself, who is her lover and also she couldn't believe she was away from home. It was still quite a shocker to her.

Kyra looked up to the night sky, seeing the stars and moon shine above, she honestly felt at peace at this moment and it felt good.

"Mind if I join you?" Kassandra said as she joined Kyra at the top deck, cause her men were getting to noisy for her, drinking down in the hatch while Barnabus tells his stories to them.

"My bad, I didn't mean to startle you" Kyra just shook her head and patted the empty spot right next to her "I need the company" She said as Kassandra sat next to her.

"Are you okay?" Kassandra asked a little worried, she knew leaving Mykonos was something big for Kyra, knowing she hasn't left that island since, well..never and this was the first time she was away.

Kyra nodded "Mhm" she hummed "I'm just still a little surprised that I'm really sailing on a ship with you and not at home in Mykonos" She told Kassandra.

"I can drop you back home if you want" Kassandra said jokingly, which made Kyra let out a light laugh.

Kyra took in the fresh sea air and leaned against Kassandra, resting her head on Kassandra's strong shoulder.

They sat there in complete comfortable silence, just looking up to the stars, enjoying each other's company. The girls were both happy that they can finally settle down together, but obviously they knew that it ain't always gonna be this peaceful, because war is always gonna happen and there's no way of stopping it, cause people would always choose violence.

"Kassandra?" Kyra spoke up with Kassandra just humming in response "Do you think your mother will like me?" She asked as she was drawing circles on Kassandra's palm.

Kassandra flick Kyra's nose, making Kyra scrunch her nose "Obviously" Kassandra said without a doubt "My mom isn't hard to please, as long as I'm happy that's all that matters to her" She told Kyra, which made Kyra feel a little better.

The two just sat there, looking up to the night sky, can this get any better?
