Leo's POV
"You what?!" Frank screamed in my face. So far I was having the worst day ever. Percy and Annabeth are in Tartarus, Piper almost beat me up, and now Frank wants to kill. "I'll say it again Flame boy, tell me what you just said."
"I sort of like Hazel," I squeked weakly. I saw Frank's face contort into one of complete rage, and I closed my eyes in fear of getting punched. I heard something hit the wall, and I opened one eye, to see Frank's fist an inch away from my head.
What should I do? I don't want to hurt him, so that means no fire. I definitely can't take him down, so that leaves one choice. "Help! Someone, please!" I screamed, I know that it wasn't manly but it was the only way to get out of this situation without getting extremely injured by a Chinese-Canadian Son of Mars. It's a lot scarier than it sounds.
I continued to scream for help for another five minutes until I heard footsteps coming towards us. Jason's here to save me thank god. But it turned out to be Hazel, even better. "Frank, what the heck are you doing?!"
"Oh gods Hazel, it's not what it looks like!"
"It looks like you were about to beat Leo up!"
"Well maybe it is what it looks like. I was only doing it because he said that he liked you."
"Does it matter that Leo likes me, I like you Frank and that is all that matters,"
"Okay Hazel," I dropped down to the ground and slowly rose to Frank's eye level, or maybe more of his mouth level.
"Hey Hazel," I said smiling weakly, Frank grunted and glared at me, "Um I have to go," quickly I made my escape to the Engine Room. When I made it I slammed the door shut, inhaling deeply I stepped towards my work-table. It was incredibly messy, the Archimedes scrolls were strewn all over the table and multiple cups of coffee littered the floor. I sat down on the work-bench and leaned over and began to examine the scrolls.
They were extremely confusing, and hard to read. But I have to learn how to create the spheres, they could help us on or quest and also could help save camp. I couldn't focus though, my mind was moving in a million directions. Would Frank really had hurt me, if Hazel hadn't shown up? I was scared maybe I should stay away from her for a few days. But that obviously wasn't going to happen because I heard a knock on the door.
"Leo I know you're in there." It was Hazel. I slowly stood up and walked to the door. My heart was fluttering. What do I say, what do I do? Then before I could make my decision I opened the door, just trying to act cool I lean up against the door to say 'Sup' but before I could I slipped and fell to the floor.
Hazel began to laugh and I felt my cheeks turn bright red. "Leo are you all right?" She managed to say in between laughs.
"Yeah I'm fine," I said.
"So how's it going?"
"Nothing much, um... I really need to be alone now. I have to focus on the spheres," NO! What am I saying!
"Oh okay," Hazel replied sounding disappointed, " I'll leave you be,"
"Okay bye," I closed the door, as Hazel walked back down the hall. I blew it! What the neck was I thinking! I kicked my workbench and immediately regretted it. A string of Greek curses ( some I didn't even know that I knew) flew out of my mouth, as I clutched my hurt foot. Once I finally calmed down, I sat back onto the workbench and tried my best to study the scrolls.
The truth is I have a better chance solving the labyrinth than deciphering these scrolls. Every word is encyrpted in some sort of code, that is almost impossible for me to decipher. So, like every ADHD student, I simply skipped to the pictures.
These pictures were so intricate and detailed, I could see every gear sprocket, nut, and bolt these spheres contained. Little captions (that were luckily not in code) surrounded the pictures and described every piece of the sphere, and why it was put there. These drawing would make Michelangelo look like a 5 year-old finger painting.
I guess that I fell asleep about an hour into studying the scrolls. Even looking at pictures get boring, because when I opened my eyes it was completely dark outside with no stars in sight. The Argo ll was silent except for the hum of the engines and Festus making clicking noises.
About 2 minutes after just listening to the silence, a crash came up from above deck. Quickly, I quietly stumbled up the stairs trying to fasten my tool belt. When I finally made it up to the deck a tall man stood in the darkness. As I came closer I that his features were sharp and alert, and his eyes were wide and blood shot, like he had injected himself with 32 oz. of pure espresso (or how look on a Saturday night at Bunker 9).
"Hello," I said hesitantly, the man's eyes darted towards me.
"Leo Valdez, I presume." his voice was silky smooth and was layered in different tones that made perfect harmony whenever he spoke, which made my eyes droop. "I'm Somnus, God of Sleep."
I wanted to laugh, this guy looks like he hasn't slept in ages. "Aren't you usually, I don't know, sleeping Lord Somnus?"
"Oh no, I never sleep. There is way to much to do, having to monitor everyone every second of the day, I have no time for rest with my schedule. But I do have a message for the others."
"What?" The hair on the back of my neck stood on end. I do not have a good feeling about this.
"That if they try to stop Gaea, then they shall share the same fate as you." Of course I'm right, why am I always right?
I couldn't continue because my lips became numb. My eyes began to droop and the corners of my vision began to grow dark. I will not go to sleep. But it was too late, the last thing that I remember was Somnus's sleepy smile and wide blood shot eyes before I fell to sleep.

Hey everyone. Sorry this took way to long, I had the worst case of writer's block in the history of all of time. I couldn't think and also school is stressful, I have around 3 to 5 hours of home work almost every night and it's math and science mainly. I promise to try and update sooner because I have a 3-day weekend coming up. Which means more time to write.
Thanks- Jess :)8
Disclaimer: I do not own any of these characters they are Rick Riorden's.
Percy: Aw, come on that disclaimer again that is so boring.
Me: Shut up, it doesn't matter what I do. I bet you couldn't think of anything better.
Percy: Well you could do um...
*3 minutes pass*
Percy: I've got nothing.
Me: Ha, now leave me alone.
*Percy leaves*
