Maya immediately turned her gaze to where Carina was standing, a tear rolling down her cheek. - How could you do this to me? It was the only thing she said before running away as fast as possible from that scene that had broken her heart into a thousand pieces.

- Maya! Carina shouted as she saw the blonde walk away. Carina ran after her, she couldn't believe what was happening, she needed to explain everything to her. – Maya stop! But it was too late the blonde had left the apartment without looking back, she just wanted to get away, get away and forget what she had seen seconds before.

- Stupida! Carina perché sei così stupida? Avresti dovuto dirgli tutto ieri, ora non ti ascolta. (Stupid! Carina why are you so stupid? Carina shouted, trying to hold back the tears that insisted on coming. – Merda, merda! Devo trovare una soluzione. (Shit, shit! I have to solve this). Carina kept turning around and talking to herself.

- Calm down Carina, I can't leave you like this. Said Arizona approaching the Italian to try to calm her down.

- No Arizona! Carina quickly pulled away from her. – This whole misunderstanding is because of you and I'm not going to let you ruin this anymore. Please take your things and leave. Carina headed to her room without waiting for Arizona's reaction, she just wanted her to leave and be able to talk to Maya.

She called her over and over again and there was no answer, it went straight to voicemail. – Maya, please answer, I swear it's not what it looks like, I can explain. Please, please don't walk away from me Maya, let me clarify everything. Carina repeated the same message over and over again in the hope that the blonde would hear it and they could talk to clear up the stupid misunderstanding.

*POV MAYA*

Maya heard Carina's voice but her mind was so foggy that she couldn't understand a word she was saying, she just wanted to run, run and escape from that place as fast as possible. In her mind was repeated over and over again the image of Arizona in her underwear on Carina's bed, the bed where they had spent so many incredible moments, the bed where they had shown with kisses and caresses everything they felt for each other. But now Maya could only think that it had all been a lie, that every moment with Carina didn't mean as much to the Italian as it did to her. Maya had never been so sure of her feelings for someone, she had never given herself the chance to open up like this with a person, to share every part of her life even the darkest and most vulnerable parts, but with Carina she felt she could do it, she wanted to do it, because for her Carina was special.

She ran without direction until her legs couldn't take it anymore, until she ran out of breath and dropped onto a park bench that was in her path. Her phone kept ringing, Carina's name appearing on the screen over and over again. Maya didn't dare to answer, what could Carina say to her, "Hey Maya I'm sorry, but we didn't mean anything" "Hey Maya I'm sorry you took everything so seriously" "Hey Maya sorry, but I never forgot Arizona". Maya imagined a thousand possible scenarios, all of which ended with her and Carina separated and Maya's heart breaking into a thousand pieces. The tears wouldn't stop, no matter how hard she tried she couldn't control the pain she felt and all she wanted to do was cry, cry until she had no more tears left.

The cell phone had stopped ringing and she had no idea how many hours passed while she was sitting on that bench, people passed by and she could feel their curious glances, but nothing mattered to her at that moment. She started the day wanting to surprise the most important person in her life, but the surprise was hers. And it wasn't the kind of surprise that makes your day and fills your heart, it was the kind of surprise that completely destroys you and breaks you into a thousand pieces. Her thoughts were interrupted when her cell phone rang again, this time Vic's name popped up on the screen.

- Maya, where are you? I'm really worried about you. Vic said as soon as Maya answered.

- Mmmm I don't know, some park, I'm not sure. Maya answered, her voice barely audible.

- Maya you sound really bad, come to my place and tell me what's wrong. Vic commented when she heard her friend's voice, the fact that she had cried was evident. – Do you want me to come get you?

- No, no, I'm fine. I need to walk to clear my mind, I'll write you when I'm near. Maya hung up without waiting for her friend's answer and started walking.

*VIC'S HOUSE*

- What did she say? Is she all right? Where is she? Tell me she's okay, please, can we go get her? Carina bombarded Vic with questions the instant she cut the call.

- She said she needs to walk to clear her head, but she's on her way here. Vic replied, trying to calm the Italian.

- I can't believe it, I'm so stupid, if I had told her everything since yesterday none of this would be happening. Carina kept berating herself for what had happened. – What if something happens to her? I will never forgive myself Vic. This is all my fault, I shouldn't have brought Arizona to my house. It's just, if you had seen her face Vic, her eyes reflected so much sadness and disappointment. I can't be the one to make her suffer, to make her cry.....

- Hey relax, everything is going to clear up I'm sure. Vic cut her words short, gently stroking her back hoping to reassure the Italian woman who was a bundle of tears.

After calling Maya hundreds of times and getting no answer, Carina decided to go look for her at her place, but when she arrived there was only Katherine who informed her that Maya had not returned home. Carina thanked Katherine and said goodbye, she thought about where else she could find Maya and immediately thought of Vic, who better than her best friend to know where she could find her. She called Victoria, but to her chagrin she had no idea where Maya was. Carina couldn't help it and burst into tears while talking to Vic, worrying the girl who asked her to come to her house and promised her that together they would find Maya. Arriving at Vic's house, Carina couldn't control her tears, she told her everything, every detail of the night before, what had happened in the morning and how Maya ran off and wouldn't let her clarify the situation. Vic noticed that Carina was devastated and couldn't help but think about how her best friend would be, Maya was an incredibly strong woman, but she had never seen her friend this involved with someone and for sure what she had seen had completely broken her.

- What is she doing here? That was the first thing Maya said when she entered Vic's house and saw the Italian woman standing next to the sofa with a sad face and a couple of tears running down her cheek.
