Sirius Black loved his job. He was a professor at the best school in the world. Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

He taught astronomy which had always been a favourite of his. Kind of ironic seeing his name is Sirius.

Lily had been skeptical when Sirius had first told her he wanted to be a Professor. She had said he might want to wait before he got a job at Hogwarts, seen as it was kind of a long term thing.

"Don't you want to live a little first?" Lily asked as she piled up the dirty plates and floated them over to the sink.

Sirius was watching her clean, leaning against the counter drinking a glass of fire whiskey. "Live a little? Am I going to be dead at Hogwarts or something?" Sirius asked sarcastically.

Lily rolled her eyes, pulling up the sleeves of her jumper before she turned on the tap. "I just mean you'll be spending nearly all your time with children."

"Wow! Really?" Sirius mocked. "I'm great with kids, Lils. I mean I'm practically one myself. Why would that be a problem?"

Lily sighed. "It's just that you won't have any time to you know, meet someone. Someday you will want a girlfriend or a wife and spending all your time in a school is gonna make that hard. Unless your into the older women, I remember you and McGonagall used to get on really well."

Sirius laughed. "As much as I adore Minnie, she's not really my type." Truth is, Sirius hadn't had a girlfriend since his 7th year, when Dorcas Meadows, his girlfriend of two years, broke up with him.

Poor Lily thought that Sirius was just heartbroken, but that wasn't the case at all. If he was honest, he really hadn't been that sad about it.

After that, he decided to focus on his career. He had had a few hookups during the years, but he definitely wasn't going to tell Lily about those. Especially since, they were men.

James was the only one who knew that Sirius was gay. He had known since fifth year, apparently. Sirius knew that Lily wouldn't care, but he just never told her. It just never came up.

Sirius wasn't really the relationship type anyway though, with women or men. After a few days he would just get bored of them. Most of them were muggles anyways, seeing as there were not many openly gay wizards around the place.

Lily had eventually stopped nagging him about it and helped him with his lesson plans. Sirius was a go-with-the-flow type of guy while Lily liked to plan everything.

7 years later and Sirius still loved his job.

Remus was nervous. Very nervous. It was his first day at his new job and he couldn't help but think of everything that could go wrong.

Remus scolded himself. He was 33 years old he shouldn't be nervous over trivial things like first impressions. Well, they weren't really first impressions since he knew a lot of his colleagues already.

He knew that McGonagall still worked there, and Dumbledore. He wasn't sure of the others, as he hadn't had contact with any of them since he left school.

He wasn't really nervous about seeing his colleagues, more about the memories. He had never really let go of his school days. They weren't all good memories, but he loved them all, none the less.

When Remus left school all those years ago, he was devasted. Hogwarts had been the first place where he was truly accepted. He had friends which was something that had seemed impossible to ten year old Remus.

When he left, his friends all joined the order. Remus, always the sheep, did too. He had imagined him and his friends battling with evil wizards and saving peoples lives. That was not what happened.
