...............................................................................................................................................Baron Von Strucker was a monstrous beast with leather like skin that was covered in scars and dark brown eyes that struck fear into all those around him, forcing them to obey his every command. This man had a great deal of power as a part of Hydra and certainly knew how to use it.
The Hydra base in northern Germany looked like an old World War Two bunker from the outside. The stone was cold and grey looking whilst the metal was turning amber with rust and had numerous icicles dripping from every level. It was the middle of the night and the whole place was deserted, accept for a few plucky guards braving the elements to guard a place so dear to their cause. Inside however was a different story. Though still decorated with cold grey stone there was very little rust and much more light to the heart of the Hydra base. There were hundreds of people there rushing around going about their daily business. Some were scientists desperately trying to achieve a breakthrough in their field, others were soldiers and even agents all working, training to serve their cause. But despite their differences all these people worked towards one common goal for this secret organisation. To take down S.H.I.E.L.D!
As he entered the base the whole floor fell silent. Soldiers, scientists and agents alike all immediately ceased their work and turned to address this important figure. Was it respect or was it pure fear, no-one truly knew what made them stand to attention in such a regimented manner.
"Hail Hydra!" they cried as their fearless leader stood amongst them.
"Hail Hydra!" he replied, whilst briefly nodding to those around him.
"I wish to see the sceptre." He stated with no emotion in his voice. "Has any progress been made in discovering how to utilise it's powers?"
" N-No" a small scientist stuttered. The shiny beads of sweat dripping from his bald head as he stood in front of Baron von Strucker, intimidated by his size. "But if you follow me sir I will show you the progress we have made."
"Very well then" Von Strucker replied "Lead the way."The small scientist shook as he lead the Baron to the main laboratory where they kept Loki's sceptre, so much so that he could barely swipe his key card or even enter the passcode to access the lab. Which did not impress the Baron at all. Once inside the scientist escorted von Strucker across the lab to a large metal table. Immediately the Baron's anger seemed to cease and instead he was amazed at the beauty of such an object, for here on this dirty and slightly rusty piece of metal lay Loki's sceptre. With it's golden handle shimmering against the backdrop of dirt and rust and the centrepiece glowing a magnificent ocean blue, it illuminated the dull surroundings in which it was being housed. The sceptre really was an exquisite design, fitting for a god, and Baron von Strucker thought so too. As he stood there his eyes glistened by the light of the sceptre, they were almost trance-like until the silence was broken by the beeping of machinery and the small squeaky voice of the scientist next to him.
"S-s-Sir" the scientist squeaked fearful of the consequences of his voice.
"WHAT!?!" the Baron exclaimed, angered that such beauty was disturbed by the idiots who surrounded him.
"We have made a breakthrough sir. In the last few minutes the activity of the sceptre has spiked and we have been able to analyse the data. This has given us the answers we need and we feel it may be possible to utilise the powers of Loki's sceptre for our own sir." The scientists grew quiet fearful of their master's next move but also excited over their recent breakthrough with this fascinating technology.
"Excellent" von Strucker replied. The scientists were all dumbfounded, unsure of what to make of the situation. "Now hand me the sceptre" the Baron gestured to the sceptre anger disappearing from his voice. The scientist gently picked up the sceptre and placed it in the hands of his master, carefully trying not to make eye contact with a man he greatly feared. The Baron simply stared at the sceptre amazed once again at it's beauty, his once dark brown eyes now glowing an eerie ocean blue.
"Now" he exclaimed with a fierce look on his face and his hands gripping tightly to the sceptre "we shall begin Phase Two!".
