"What are you doing here in the middle of the night young lady?" Ms Orimura asked assertively.

"M-miss Orimura, I- apologies ma'am..." Kanzashi stuttered before she was cut off by the dorm supervisor.

"You really shouldn't be eating this late, not that I can talk. However I've been very preoccupied today with an issue that occurred from my class the other day..." The teacher said, attempting a tone to put the tense Kanzashi at ease, not that it helped much. Even with a passive expression this woman exuded an authoritative presence. As Ms Orimura hinted to her trouble maker she took keen glances at her posture and reactions as if looking for something- a tell.

"Oh that's... Well I'm sorry to hear that" Kanzashi stated, looking for a cue to be dismissed from the conversation. Their interaction grew stagnant before Kanzashi cleared her throat. "I'll head back to my quarters then." She said, standing herself up to escape in an orderly fashion. She urged her stiff legs to move one by one, despite this they froze up again, not because of the cold but rather the uttering of a word...

"Ichika..." Ms Orimura hooked her with, no without any courtesy in her voice. "He skipped class after training yesterday, would you happen to know why that is?" she asked Kanzashi with a; dare she say suspicious undertone.

'So he was skipping...' Kanzashi confirmed to herself.

"His prints were last detected accessing the maintenance department... around the same time you did."

"I... thought he had clearance to be there at the time." she confessed. This was true. When it happened she did think he was there for a reason so Kanzashi admitted that much. She honestly didn't have it in her to outright lie to Ms Orimura about her brother's whereabouts, this was exhausting.

"So you don't know why he was there?" Ms Orimura concluded. Kanzashi only shook her head. "All right then you're dismissed." Chifuyu said, withholding her interrogative aura and handing Kanzashi one of the packaged snacks she just bought. Kanzashi let out a premature sigh before Ms Orimura left her, on a final- and blunt remark. "Oh and you'll be in detention for breaking curfew."

"E-eh..."

As Kanzashi made her way back to her dorm her pale sky blue hair seemed to luminate in the moonlight. After she'd passed through the deafeningly silent hallways she set the snack down on her desk, for whatever reason she'd lost her appetite. 'I just need to reboot.' She convinced herself, ragdolling onto her bed and snuggling into her pillow, muffling her shaky sigh. Drifting off...

*Earlier that day*

Ichika had been walking around the almost fully repaired academy and whilst he could say he was looking for Kanzashi- it was with anxiously low effort. Ichika didn't actually have any idea of what he'd actually say once he found her...

"Hey Kanzashi, thanks for the anime; message received, let's go out!" He sarcastically announced to himself, receiving a few odd stares and whispers from students in the vicinity. Ichika blushed inwardly. "That won't come back to bite me..." He tried to convince himself, picking up his pace. As Ichika swiftly turned a corner to evade the crowd's murmurs he locked eyes with his German classmate Laura. With her usual bold demeanour and a satisfied smile? She'd almost immediately reported through her earpiece. "Target located."

"Target? H- hey Laura!" Ichika exclaimed as he was dragged by the shirt collar through academy grounds until he gently cupped her hand, insinuating he'd follow if she at lessened her vice like grip.

"Come my wife, you shouldn't keep the instructor waiting!"

"Instruct- Fuck!" The boy blurted out, catching the petite super soldier's attention by surprise. Ordinarily Ichika didn't like to swear but what could he say, people tend to find out who they really are in their final moments...
