Sometimes I put stories down because I can't bear to mess with the characters in the third act. This was one of those cases - but I did write this perfect chapter before things get messy again. Thanks to @saratello13 for jogging my memory about this chapter that I had stowed away for a rainy day. Enjoy!
After his shower in the bathroom of the catamaran, Ed rubbed himself dry with a fluffy towel and took a hard look at himself in the mirror. Sure, he was sporting a very large, almost painful hard-on, but he looked... happy. His eyes shone, his face was brighter, his shoulders set back in a confident stance. He was looking forward to the rest of the night (some parts of him more than others) but for now, he was inexorably happy.
How long since he'd felt that way? He remembered a time with his grandmother, sitting around grinning after he found out he'd landed the scholarship to college – but even that happiness had been marred by the unsaid factor in the situation. If he hadn't scored the free ride through college, he would have had to beg his mother, or just settle for no college education.
This joy was pure and unfiltered. He caught his own eyes in the bathroom mirror and said, "She did it. She did it." Lina's kiss, no matter how much he'd longed for it, had been completely unexpected. It was the best surprise of his life. She'd tasted sweet and fierce, and as her passion had grown, he'd almost come undone at the way she whispered orders to him, directing him to her pleasure.
The girl he'd met a week ago never would have been that brave. This was the Lina he'd known was hiding there all along, a woman of strength, unafraid to go after what she wanted. Watching her fall apart in his arms as he brought her to climax was like seeing a miracle, something so beautiful and powerful, it took his breath away.
Again, pulsed his body. He wanted to see her come again and again, under his fingers, in his mouth, riding his length. Groaning, he carefully slid a pair of board shorts over his erection, then chose a long tee to throw over the top, hoping the low hem would disguise the fact he was practically more cock than man at that point.
Emerging from the bedroom, his face split into a wide smile to see Lina cuddled up under a soft throw blanket, sipping red wine. Her hair had dried in the cool evening air and was pinned to the top of her head in an adorable top knot. Under the blanket, her silver kaftan peeped through, and her feet were covered in a pair of his clean socks. She was both ethereal and familiar, and the combination made his heart dance.
"Hey."
"Hi!" She stood, pulling the blanket close around her shoulders. "How was your shower?"
"Lonely." He tugged her close and kissed her deeply. "I will never get tired of doing that."
"That makes two of us."
With their bodies pressed close, Ed distinctly heard a rumble from between them. "Was that your belly or mine?"
"Wow, I think it was mine." She rubbed the gentle swell of her stomach beneath the blanket. "I think I've gained weight since I've been here; I'm hungry all the time."
He didn't believe that was a bad thing; over the week she'd been on the island, he'd noted some of the sharp planes of her body softening – just a touch, enough to show that she was eating well and regularly, as opposed to her normal diet of lean protein when she remembered to eat at all. Still - "I'm not about to get into a commentary about your body, Lina. It's yours and yours alone. But I'm making steak tonight and I hope you'll have some."
Her belly gurgled again as if it agreed with Ed, and they both laughed. "I guess that's a yes. What can I do to help?"
"Can you make a salad?"
