I got back home and avoided everyone. I packed my bag, got my debit card, and my penny board. I left a note on my bed and said

I left and started walking to the skate park. I saw Darío already there...holding hands with a little girl?

"Hey Darío! Hey Cutie, what's your name?" I said bending down to get level.

"My name is Dalaney Korina Santos. I'm 7 years old, and I'm from Jasper Alabama. And that's my bruhder Darío." She replied, it's so cute she can't say brother.

"Well I'm Nicole Mina Doms. I'm 13 years old, tomorrow is my birthday though. I'm from Jasper Alabama as well. And your brother is my friend." I beamed.

"Oh really? That means you're a big girl! Wow. The girls at my school says I can't play wif them because I'm not a big girl. And you're my friend now so I have a big girl friend!" She smiled so brightly and I nodded.

" I hope it's ok I brought her along because I can't leave her." He said picking up his sister.

"Of course she can come!" I whisper yelled

"Ok! First, let's go to the diner we can eat and research some jobs and then we can go to a train station yea?" He suggested

"Sounds good, let's go."

"Where are we goin' Darry?" Dalaney asked

"We're going far away from Daddy, ok? Does that sound good?" He asked her and kissed her forehead

"Yay! That means he can't hurt us no more right, Darry?" She smiled

"Right, Laney." She hugged the life out of him.

"Y'all ready?" I asked smiling

"Yes Ma'am! Can I give you a name Nicole? How about Bubby? Yea... BUBBY!" She smiled at me

"Of course sweetheart, you can call me Bubby."
