Chapter 1. A Companion 🧍‍♀️

(Y/N) couldn't stop her growing smile as she neared the top of the stairs, finally, she could see what humans were up to instead of reading it from books. (Y/N) swiftly climbed up the last flight from the darkness seeing the light.

"Uh...Progenitor (Y/N)?"

She spun around maintaining a neutral face.

"...what?"

"We can't go further because of the restrictions placed by the queen..."

"Ah yes... and?"

"You haven't worn your armband yet," the commoner vampire said, handing her a thin but tight black band.

(Y/N) scoffed," I've already worn one."

She lifted their white cape revealing the black band on her left arm.

"Tell Ferid I will greet him in a few months," (Y/N) said, walking out into the distance waving.

(Y/N) opened a white envelope, slipping out the invitation addressing the war nearby. In fancy words the rules and the people participating when written neatly filling the letter. (Y/N) ripped the letter, "No one is going to read the rules anyway."

When she finished ripping the letter, she noticed sounds of beating and cries of pleading ahead. Curious, she walked to the scene. There was a group of bulky men surrounding a poor, skinny boy covered in blood and bruises.

"How cruel," (Y/N) thought.

"What are you doing here by yourself anyway?" a man said smirking at his victim

"I-... I'm trav-*sniff*..elling to..," the boy hiccupped and sniffed, balling out tears.

(Y/N) watched another man rip open a small bag flipping it upside down, dumping all the items to the floor.

"There isn't any money boss," grunted another man.

"What a waste of time," a scrawny man said before pulling out a knife.

(Y/N) was going to walk past before she spotted a nice looking brown cape that one of the men had. Interested, she walked nearby 'accidentally bumping into one of them.

"Watch where you're going pri-"

"Ah- I'm so sorry," (Y/N) said bowing down in apology, quickly smirking.

"Oh~"

"Ugh," (Y/N) thought.

(Y/N) shivered in disgust as that reminded her of Ferid.

"Where are you heading to?" a different man said with a hungry gaze.

"I'm heading to the town to the left, over there," she pointed.

The 'boss' rubbed his two hands together facing (Y/N), "Oh, we're just heading there too, are you a noble? Let us guide you, you'll be much safer ."

"..."

(Y/N) burst out laughing and sneered," No wonder we kill humans."

"What did you just say?!"

"I said you vermin are dumb pieces of shit," (Y/N) shrugged looking at their fingernails.

The men's faces turned red with rage charging at (Y/N).

(Y/N) stood there waiting for them to reach her.

The boss threw a punch at her stomach in which she grabbed their shoulder and kneed them in the ribs two times. She heard a satisfying crack, she grinned. Two men approached her from either side. She punched a man in the stomach, sending them far away in the dirt with her monstrous strength. She pushed her palm against the chin of the right person and stabbed the man's throat with two of her fingers.

In a matter of seconds, the men all collapsed on to the ground. (Y/N) headed towards the bodies and sorted through their belongings, trying to find the brown cloak. She picked up a small bag to keep the brown cloak in. When she found it the boy that sat shocked slowly picked himself up. (Y/N) brushed the dirt off her clothes.

"Oh..ah... thank you so much for saving me!"

(Y/N) paused and looked at the boy thanking her. "I forgot he existed," she thought. (Y/N) walked away with her new bag slung over her shoulder. She yawned, looking forward.

"...Thank you for saving me back there, I had a tough time..."

"..."

"Anyways, I heard that you are going to the town nearby, I'm going to go there!"

"So...uh what's your name?"

"..."

(Y/N) glanced at the boy, "He doesn't look harmful."

She cleared her throat, "My name's (Y/N)."

"Wow, that's such a pretty name! My name's Nathaniel," he smiled offering to shake hands.

"Uh... wtf is this mans doing."

Nathaniel glanced at her confused face and took the lead, holding her hand shaking it gently, "Nice to meet you (Y/N)."

Ngl I think that chapter is a bit short for my first one but I can't think of any way I could connect the next bit to this lmao.
