So Many Girls, So Little Time

And so the army of about 100 specially selected inmates began their trek through the hospital, down the dark, dusty corridors and rotten winding stairs (any girl that fell behind was beaten with fists and planks of wood until she caught up with the herd or fell unconscious. Unsurprisingly, many girls were lost on the way) until eventually they reached the main entrance hall.
As they descended down the final set of slightly curved and immaculately polished cherry wood staircase, led by Madame Sinnett who was closely followed by Laurence, Kier and Drew, who desperately tried to hold in his protests of being once again separated from Cyrus. Why didn't the headmistress think that Cyrus was beautiful? In Drew's eyes, he was the most beautiful and perfect creature God had ever and will ever create.

The entrance hall was quite a bit different from the rest of the asylum. But it was nothing but a fake mask used to trick new inmates and their families into giving over all their money in exchange for "care and speedy recoveries" with it's plum wallpaper painted with silver swirls and red roses. The floor was the same cherry wood as the the staircases which curved on both sides of the room, leading onto short landings that went onto a pair of double doors. Beyond these doors were the first lot of cells, the quieter inmates, strategically placed so that the families of newcomers would be less likely to hear the screaming, thus trusting the doctors to do a good job, thus giving them yet money, which Kier had to admit was bloody genius.

To the left of the hall was a painting of Doctor Albert and his mother, Madame Sinnett, surrounded by a golden frame and a pair of heavy wooden doors leading to the kitchen and dining hall. To the right was the fireplace, it's core was alight and in front of it stood a table that held a glass bowl positively over flowing with fruit and chocolates. On either side of the table were two over stuffed cream couches with dark purple and red pillows carefully placed in each corner of them.
Another beautiful mask, every inmate knows that the fireplace leads to quarantine!
Hanging from the ceiling was a massive silver chandelier, covered in crystals and at the very back of the room was head doctor Albert's office.
If you were taken in there, there was a very small chance you'd ever come back.

The headmistress lead the charge through the doors leading to the dining hall, weaving in and out of rows of tables until they reached the door on the far end of the room that exited out onto the bathing court, almost stopping dead in their tracks when they saw a massive red and white striped circus tent instead of the hose area. The tent took up pretty much most of the court, save the small patch of washing lines that were strewn with striped stockings and shifts.
Madame Sinnett pushed back the curtain of the tent and instructed the inmates to line up inside.
They did as they were told whilst their headmistress chatted with a strange, eccentric man.
The short man grinned brightly before walking up and down the line. He began inspecting the inmates, sending them outside until their were only 15 left.
"I suppose you're wondering why you're here!" He laughed, adjusted his too big crimson velvet suit jacket.
"Of the 100 chosen, you lucky lot are the most fair faced and odd peop--"
His speech was interrupted by the harsh rattling of chains and a deep, guttural growl.
"Hey! You be careful with him! And keep him restrained!"
The remaining inmates turned back towards the entrance to see a guard pulling a young man by a chain attached to a choking collar around his neck.
The man was tall and muscular with inky black hair and bright blue eyes. He had a tattoo on the top of his right arm and was only wearing one stocking on his left leg as well as a straight jacket. The shackles around his ankles were tight and had rubbed him red raw until there were drips of blood running down his foot.
He was growling and yelling obscenities at the guard until another guard came and put a contraption not unlike a muzzle over his mouth so that the shouting became little more than muffled cries.
Kier decided that he was undoubtedly handsome, if not completely and utterly barking bloody mad.
