Kyotani pov:
I arrived at home and tried my best to be quiet and make my way up to my room. I took off my shoes at the door and made it halfway down the hall before I was his in the back of the head with a spoon. I screeched and tried to run but it didn't work because I was in socks. (;-;) I was tackled/hugged to the ground by my mama who had wrapped herself around me and was trying to force me to explain why I was so late. "Where were you? I knew you'd be late but you could have said you'd be this late! I was worried." She said standing up and helping me up. "Sorry, I honestly didn't know I'd be this late either." I said, rubbing the back of my neck, another habit of mine. "Did you go somewhere?" She asked, picking her spoon back up and walking to the kitchen. I followed and replied. "Yeah actually. I went to a friend's house." "You made a friend! Yay! Good job!!" She squealed and turned around, picking me up and squeezing the hell out of me. "Mama, too tight-" I wheezed out. "Oh, sorry." She put me down and dusted herself off even though there wasn't any dust. I still have no clue how that woman is so small, but holds so much power. "Anyways, go take a shower. You stanky child." Mama teased and shooed me out of the kitchen where she was cleaning.
After I got out of the bath, I placed my duckies in a line on the side of the tub, like I always do unless we have company over. Then I hide them. Mama teases me for still using them, but can you blame me? They're so cute and smol. (>////<)
I went to the kitchen to try to sneak a little snacky snack in my ducky sweatpants. "You gettin' a snack kiddo?" My mom asked from out of nowhere. I probably jumped a little. "Yeah, I didn't get much dinner." I said, walking to the fridge. "Oh, do you want me to make something? Also I like your pants." She said the last sentence with a small smirk. In response I just turned around and did the classic gremlin pose. She just laughed at me and walked out of the kitchen. I turned back around to the fridge and pulled out some leftover onigiri from lunch today. Mama never eats all her lunch so we always have extras. I grabbed them and headed back up to my room and I finished watching a really good show called erased.
(The next day)
(6:30 AM)
I got up for school as normal and left before my parents. I always leave earlier than most people do. I like it quiet and the morning always looks cooler when it's quiet. I was walking and was about to turn my music on in my headphones when some kid on a bike ran me over. It was some little ginger head kid in a black blazer that honestly looked really cool. But that didn't stop the fact that I was pissed about it. He got up off the ground while I was still under his bike. "A-H I'm sorry!! I didn't see you!" He said, picking his bike back up. I heard a laugh from behind me and I stood up, dusting myself off. I turned around to see who was laughing at me. Surprisingly, it was Yahaba. He was covering his mouth with his hand and chuckling at me. "Whatever kid, just watch where you're going next time." I barked at him, I then walked over to yahaba and just kept quiet because he'd probably say something. "Really? How'd you not hear him? Or me for that matter? I was calling out to you and he was singing something." He said finally removing his hand from by his mouth. He still had a really cute smile though. ' Cute. Wait, no. Not cute! Stupid brain.' "I don't know, I wasn't listening to either of you." I said closing out my music app so my phone didn't die. "Well, good reason. I wouldn't either this early in the morning. Speaking of which why are you going to school so early?" He asked , starting to sway his arms as we walked. "I could ask you the same thing. But, I was hoping to get a little bit of time to practice by myself." I replied, sticking my hands in my pockets because it was still a little chilly out. "I leave early so I don't get caught in morning traffic in my house. By the way, what time is it?" He asked. "Um, 6:53. Why?" I asked, putting my phone back in my pocket. "Because, if we get there early enough, we should have the gym to ourselves for awhile since morning practice doesn't start 'til 7:30. Also, you have a bike track of dirt on your back." He said, running his finger along where the supposed track was. I genuinly didn't expect that so I shivered a little before taking off my jacket. It wasn't even a sport jacket, but my school jacket. And of course, it's a white jacket. I turned around the jacket so the back was facing me and dusted what I could off of it. "That's gonna need to be washed out. Unless you wanna put some water on it and scrub it and leave it to dry while we practice?" He asked while I just carried my jacket on my arm. "Yea sure, do you have some water?"I asked as we walked in the gates of the school. "Not on me right now, but I know where we can get some." He said as we walked into the gym.
I went into the changing room and came back out with my jacket. I saw Yahaba, who had already changed, was carrying 3 bottles of water. "Why do you have three?" I asked, walking closer to him. "Oh, so we both have something to drink. And so we can get that dirt off." He handed me a water bottle and led me to the sinks. I handed the water back to him and he opened it. "Pour a little bit onto it." I told him as I grabbed a towel from by the sink and started to rub off the dirt.
We got it off in like 5 minutes, but my jacket was soaked so we had to hand it up on the railing at the top half of the gym. "Alright, what do ya wanna do first?" Yahaba asked, picking up a ball. "I don't care, let's start with something simple, as a warm up." I usually start with that stuff when I help little kids so they don't get hurt from not fully stretching. "Okay, wanna do receives then?" He asked, spinning the ball on his finger. "Yea sure." I replied and he served the ball to me from across the court. I skeeted to my right and picked up the ball with my arms, It went in a straight line back to him. He spiked it again and I slid to the left.
This went on for like 15 minutes so we decided to take a break. "Do you normally do this? It sort of looks like you have a routine." Yahaba asked, taking a sip from his water. "Yea, I help little kids with practicing." I replied, turning away and taking a sip of my water. Only to be hit with the fact that it wasn't water. I coughed and put the 'water down' "What. the. HELL. did you just give me?"I asked, turning to look at a confused yahaba. I saw a flash of realization across his face before it turned bright red. "You know nothing. Nothing happened. I just gave you the wrong water bottle." He picked up my 'water' bottle and speeded away. I got up and followed him. He sat in a corner under the sinks. "You good? I didn't mean anything bad. I was just shocked." I said crouching down to where he was. "Fine, just don't say anything about it. I'm not supposed to drink and watari gets mad if I do. I don't over drink though, I usually dilute it or carry a second water bottle to help. I just need to get through the day you know?"
"Yea, I understand. But that doesn't mean you should use vodka cranberry." I laughed a little bit and sat down with him. He looked at me with stars in his eyes for some reason. "You never said you had an adorable giggle." He turned away, the blush on his face quite obvious. Hell, when he said that to me I felt my ears and neck get really hot. "I didn't know my laugh was that cute either." I said and he laughed. "Well, the more you know?" He snorted a little at the end. 'Fuck'.
