Turning his attention to the Emily-sized lump beneath the covers as she let out a deep groan when the alarm on her phone started beeping, Aaron smirked and set the book he had been reading down so that he could watch one of her hands emerge and snatch her phone from the nightstand. She had always insisted that she was a morning person, but ever since she had moved in with him a little under a month ago he had come to learn that that was a complete lie and she hated mornings with a passion. Once she had snoozed the alarm and the incessant beeping had stopped, she launched the phone across the room and burrowed back beneath the covers and he didn't even attempt to resist the urge to lie down behind her and pull the covers over his head so that he could take her in his arms. 'Someone has a temper...' He teased.
Her only response was an incoherent mumble.
'For some reason, I was under the impression that you were a morning person,' He chuckled as he began kissing his way slowly up her neck, his hand coming to rest on her belly through her negligee so that he could draw her close to him and hold her in place. 'What gave me that idea, I don't know, but one thing I do know is that for someone as intelligent as you, that was probably the stupidest choice you could have made. You see, in a couple of minutes that alarm is going to go off again and now you're going to have to get up and walk all the way over there to get your phone which is just going to put you in even worse of a mood. For that reason, I'm going to go and make some breakfast.'
Just as he began to take his arms from around her, she rolled over to face him and the two of them chuckled together as she wrapped both arms tight around him and pressed her chin against his chest. The next couple of moments passed by in silence as they looked at each other and he stroked her hair with the fingers on one hand, the other massaging her lower back as he dropped the occasional kiss to her nose just so he could hear the giggles that he loved so much. She hated it when she giggled because she always ended up snorting inadvertently, but that was one of her most adorable qualities in his opinion and the deep blush that would bloom in her cheeks only made him love her more.
He tightened the arm around her waist when she cuddled up to him once a little more time had passed and brushed his nose with her own, a smile appearing on his face when her gaze started moving between his and his lips and she sucked gently on her bottom lip. The moment she rested a hand on his cheek and pressed her lips against his though, her phone started beeping again over on the other side of the room and it took all the willpower he possessed not to burst out laughing when she slowly pulled back from him with nothing but rage in her eyes. 'You even think about laughing and I'll kill you, I mean that,' She warned him just seconds before she threw back the covers and climbed out of bed, his gaze following her as she stormed across the room and leaned down to pick up her phone so that she could stop the alarm again.
She switched her phone off this time as well, not taking any chances, before throwing it onto the chair near the window and laughing as she ran back over to the bed and practically dived on Aaron. The two of them chuckled as she pressed her lips back to his and laid her hands on the sides of his neck, a contented hum escaping her as his hands ran up and down her back through the silk material of her negligee and he responded eagerly to her kisses. It didn't take long for him to turn them and move so that he was hovering above her, but his phone buzzed on his nightstand just as he began running his fingers through her hair and they groaned in irritation before he all but flopped onto his back and reached for it while she cuddled against him. 'Garcia,' He announced while putting an arm around her again. 'She says we have a case.'
'Of course...' She grumbled before allowing him to hook his finger beneath her chin and tilt her head back so that she was looking at him.
'How about this? We get this case solved and then I'll take you out to dinner when we get back.' He suggested.
'Anywhere I want?' She asked while he ran his thumb along her jaw.
'Anywhere you want,' He nodded. 'And I promise not to complain when you order everything on the menu and max out my card.'
She laughed at that and laid a hand on his chest, stretching up to kiss him. 'Yeah, that sounds good. I love you so much.'
'I love you too,' He pressed a kiss onto her hairline before pulling back again. 'We had better get going. They can't make a start without us.'
Knowing that he was right, she allowed him to take his arm from around her before they climbed out of bed and straightened it up slightly. She then headed towards the en-suite while he wandered over to the bedroom door so that he could head into the kitchen and make their morning coffee, but just before she closed the door behind her she paused for a second and smiled to herself as she looked at him in silence. It hadn't been too long since she had moved in with him and Jack and she wasn't too sure about what the future had in store for them, but there was one thing that she was positive about and it was that there was nothing more perfect than waking up next to him every morning.
Absolutely nothing.
