Avery/Robert's POV

We have to write an essay? All I wanted was to go to Australia! Not write an essay!

Avery's POV

Well, at least it's not due until Friday, and at least it's easy! Writing about myself won't be hard at all! I could finish this in one night if I wanted to! Maybe I should start it tonight. What if they ask for it early and  I don't have it ready?! Yeah, I'm starting it tonight. Just think, in 10 days I'll be on a plane to Australia! No more school, drama, and ABSOLUTELY no more of that punk, Robert

Robert's POV

This should be illegal. Telling your kids they can go to Australia if they wanted for a month in the summer with no string attached, then BAM! They shove a piece of paper and a pencil in your face saying 'If you want to go you have to write an essay!' The only reason I'm actually filling this stupid paper out is to FINALLY get away from my parents and my that little prissy princess, Avery.

~~~Day Before Plane Ride~~~
Avery's POV
I feel like I'm going to burst with excitement! Tomorrow is the day that I finally leave to Australia! Once I'm there I'll find some hunky Australian boy and we'll fall helplessly in love! Then after a month together I'll leave and break his heart! Then after five years he'll come find me and we'll get married, have kids and live happily ever after!
So maybe the odds of that fantasy coming true is a billion to one, but who cares? No matter what I will at least get a kiss from a boys over seas!
Enough day dreaming Avery! You still haven't finished packing and you still need to spend time with family before you leave for a month!
I started putting the rest of my belongings that I was taking with me in 1/3 suit cases. What? I'm a girl who's going away for a month! Of course I'm going to be taking a lot of suitcases! I put the last item in the over flowing suitcase then attempted to zip it up. Wow, this was harder than I thought! I give up! "Tyler!" I yelled my older brothers name hoping he would come and help.
Me and Tyler have always been close. Obviously he's my brother but in some ways he's like my best friend and my dad. He's very protective of me, especially ever since our dad died about 3 years ago. He's also really funny and caring. But there is one down side to have him as a brother. He's in a band. But that's not the bad part. That band consists of five people. My brother Tyler and his friends who are in the same grade as him, Zach, Alex, and Austin, but lets not forget the fifth member! Robert.
"Yeah lil sis?" Tyler came into my room a bit out of breathe from running up the stairs. "Can you help zip this stupid suitcase? If I can't zip it and you can't zip it, I might just throw it out the window!" He laughed at my little outburst then came over to the baby blue suitcase. "Okay I need you to zip it while I sit on it," He jumped on top of the suitcase as I pulled the two zippers together. Finally!
"Thank you Tilly Willy!" I said in my best little kid voice while messing up his hair. "I told you never to call me that! You know how much I hate that name!" He started whining as we made our way downstairs. "MOM! Tell Avery to stop calling me Till Willy!" She looked up from the stove, she looked a bit tired.
She's a few inches shorter than me and my brother but we get our height from my dad's side. She has dark light brown hair that sometimes can look like blonde and light brown eyes, that's where Tyler gets his looks from. As for me, I get mine from my dad. Same darkish brown hair and green eyes.
She also has the best job. Founder of a guitar company! Her and my dad started it and now it's such a big success! She gets all the coolest guitars and provides the biggest people in music with them too! Their company was part of the reason Tyler and his friends started their band.
"Tyler, that's between the two of you." I laughed as his face turned red with anger. "So, what's for our last dinner as a family until next month?" I slowly looked over my mom's shoulder. "Your favorite, tamales!" Being from a Mexican family always has it's perks! "Now you two wash up!"
Robert's POV
One more day! One more day until I'm where beaches and kangaroos are! Oh and lets not forget them beach babes! I better get rest or else I won't have any energy tomorrow. Who am I kidding! I won't need energy! It's a 14 hour flight! whoa. It's a 14 hour flight. What am I going to do with my life for that long on a plane!
I went around my room grabbing random crap I thought could help keep me occupied on that long flight. A camera, PS3, game boy- gotta keep it old school!- phone, laptop, maybe some movies, and definitely my notebook!
I may seem like I'm all bad and have no heart and that I spit on puppies to feel joy, but I'm not. Sure I'm bad and I don't show that I have a heart all that often but I don't spit on puppies to feel joy! Instead I draw. I'm actually pretty good if I do say so myself! My mom taught me when I was younger since all I seemed to want to do was take anything and draw anything anywhere. She was an amazing artist and still is but instead of putting her paintings in museums, she helps other people put theirs in museums. Although I hate seeing my mom envy all those people, I wont really complain. She gets paid really well and can pay the bills and still have some money left over.
We would have a lot of money left over if my dad had a job but he's been jobless for about a year and can never find one. He's always stressing about how he can't find one which makes him look almost twice his age! His hair is turning more and more gray each day he doesn't find a job. His face is starting to look a lot like his dad. Apparently ever Gomez man is the spitting image of their father, and with the example of my dad and his dad, I'm afraid I'm going to look like my dad when I'm older.
My mom on the other hand has long black curly hair that's always up. Even if her and my dad are in their 30's and my dad looks 40 something, my mom still looks as if she were in her 20's.
"ROBERT!" My dad yelled down the hall with a bit of anger in his voice. "What?" Even if he was angry I still used my same annoyed tone. "Get out here and spend time with your family! You leave tomorrow and you've been in your room all day!" I rolled my eyes as I reluctantly lifted myself up off my bed and out into the living room.
I plopped myself down on the couch sprawling out taking up any possible seating. "Happy?" I gave my dad a smile that made him turn around cussing under his breathe. "Mama, stop cooking! You're going to burn the house down you can't even stay awake! Go take a nap." I took the spoon from my moms hand then led her to the couch. "Roberto, I'm fine! I'm almost finished." She looked at me wearily. I've always treated my mom like a queen. As for my dad more like an annoying brother. "I've got it  mama. You just take a nap and I'll wake you up when it's ready."
I went to the stove finished cooking the food then called my parents down for our last meal together for a whole month. Ans as much as I hate to admit it, I'm going to miss my mom home made cooking. But hey! I get to eat Vegemite! Whatever the hell that is.
A/N: So I don't know if I should finish the whole story or not! I think I might but it wont be up for a little bit since I haven't even started! But I hoped you liked it!
