Chapter One: Shots with Her Majesty

Emma's POV

(AN: This starts when Emma walks in Granny's and excuse the dialog if I get some of it wrong)

I pull open the doors to Granny's and see Regina slouched over at the bar with a cup of what looks like tea. I walk over and sit down beside her. She brings her head up and looks at me and sighs.

“I'm not in the mood for a hope speech Emma.” She says and slumps back over with her head leaning on her hand. Her slumping over is unusual for the usually poised former mayor.

“You are mistaking me for my mother. Besides, you don't need a speech you need a drinking buddy. Shots?” I ask looking down at her since she's still slumped over looking at her cup.

“Sure.” She says sitting up and looking at me with a weird expression.

“Two.” I say looking over at the waitress behind the bar and again the silence continues.

“You know you did the right thing today.” I say breaking the silence.

“There it is a hope speech. I though we were drinking.” She says annoyance clear in her voice.

“It's not a speech it's a compliment.”

“Well I don't need your validation. I know I did the right thing. I know because I'm so miserable, again.” When she says this my heart breaks.

“Thanks.” I say when the waitress brings over our two shots.

“Well if it makes you feel any better so is Gold.” I say hoping to cheer her up.

“It does.” She says and we clink our drinks together. We don't even get to down our shot when the door to Granny's burst open and Henry runs over to us.

“Whoa kid slow down!” I exclaim.

“Mom, mom I found something big! You're going to want to see this.” He says smiling at us. We walk back to the big mansion where he leads us down a hall.

“After you guys left I stayed to look around and I found something.” He explains with Regina and I walking behind him.

He pulls down a light on the wall and leads us to this secret room behind the wall and we walk inside. The room is full with all kinds of books.

“Wow!” I exclaim looking around.

“A library,” Says Regina in awe too.
