The group entered the canteen and settled down at an empty table. Childe, Lumine, Ayaka and Kaeya squished into one bench, while Dain took the seat opposite from Childe, with Zhongli, Hu Tao and Aether sharing the rest of the bench.
Lumine, squished between Childe and Ayaka as she was, pulled out a few props for the upcoming class play and worked on them despite the lack of elbow space. When she was satisfied with the results, she hopped past the backrest of the bench to throw away some trash. Before she headed to the trashcan however, the girl smirked and stuck a piece of scrap on Childe's forehead - as payback to him sticking papers on her just the day before. The ginger immediately whirled around and managed to stick the piece onto Lumine's shoulder before she could jump back. The girl laughed at the expression on Childe's face when she managed to stick it on the back of his head, and the squabble went on for a while as the group watched on with amusement.
Soon it was time to get lunch. Books and computers were put away, replaced by dishes of fried rice and noodles. As Lumine was sipping her soup, she noticed Childe picking her phone up - which was charging on the table just beside the ginger's arm - and took a picture of her. The poor girl fumed and snatched her phone back to delete the picture, futilely ignoring the taller boy's laughter. When she glanced up from her phone however, another phone was taking picture of her. "AETHER!!" She screeched, beyond annoyed now, lunch forgotten. Her twin grinned impishly before handing his own phone over to Hu Tao, who giggled and announced to the group, "I am going to edit this picture! Ooh, when's the wedding, by the way?" Lumine's eartips were beginning to turn pink, as the realization of what her friends were referring to dawned on her.
Dainsleif didn't help with his offhanded comment, "You two do look like a couple." Zhongli nodded in agreement, and Kaeya declared "A couple that radiates immense crackhead energy, yes!" Lumine desperately turned over to her left side, whisper-yelled to Ayaka "Help!" The white-haired girl merely smiled and murmured "I ship it." in reply. Lumine groaned as she stabbed her noodles aggressively in an attempt to finish up her now-cold lunch. "How the fuck did I end up being friends with you lot??" The girl moaned as she shoved the last of her cold noodle into her mouth. Childe, the damned dude, remained calm and cool throughout the whole exchange. Lumine envied him for that. She's so easily flustered, Archons above! The blond desperately hoped that her friends would find a new target soon enough and forget about all this after a week.
