"Perfect!" Draco grumbled, irritably tidying the already perfectly tidy room. "Just perfect!"
As luck would have it today, when the hated Potter was due to visit him, things in his room absolutely did not want to fall into place. Cups from the academic olympiads were turned at the wrong angle, the soft carpet slid across the dark parquet, stirring underfoot. Everything around him seemed to mock his already strained nerves.
"Two textbooks, sheets, pens..." Draco glanced around the desk one more time, making sure he had everything ready. He adjusted the spine of the notebook with his thin fingers so that it was parallel to the edge of the desk, and exhaled heavily. "Everything was ready."
Draco looked around. For the first time he thought it wouldn't hurt to put up a guest couch. But he'd never hosted anyone before, so there was no need for one. Draco sat down carefully on the edge of the bed so as not to wrinkle the covers, and stared at the clock. There were still twenty minutes until Potter arrived, which seemed in no hurry to pass.
Silence settled back into the deserted rooms. His parents would be at work until late afternoon, as usual. Lucius, having the dominant alpha gene, was the head of a large company, his alpha mother Narcissa was his PR manager. No one was surprised when Draco, born into such an alpha family, was also given alpha status in testing.
His parents had high hopes for him. He was destined to become heir to his father's company. So from an early age he studied hard at the most elite alpha gymnasium in the capital. Which was not the case with Harry Potter. He was transferred to Draco's class in his final year. He was a complete zero in the sciences, but got into the gymnasium because of his outstanding success in sports.
Potter was wet and disheveled every day after morning sports practice. He annoyed Draco unbearably when he sat in front of him in class. His pungent pheromones made him wrinkle his nose and move as far as he could. And Draco was even more angry that no one in class thought Potter smelled like cattle on a dirty farm.
Moreover, apparently, to make Draco finally angry, Potter quickly became popular at school, thanks to his idiotic smile, ridiculous round glasses, and the dull look of his wide-open eyes.
