BLUE
The droplets were painting my Tshirt which was now a see through. The strands of my hair slapping my cheeks, the wind drying it with no effect as the rain poured harder. My legs were moving but to which direction I didn't know. My worn out sneakers damp and splashing the mini dams.
"Blue wait!" Amanda called after me but it's as if I couldn't stop my self. I needed to get a taxi to get me to my apartment and that's all that I was thinking of.
"Blue wait" only this time it wasn't Amanda's voice, a much more masculine voice.
But I didn't stop I ran as fast as I could, would you stop if the building you live in was collapsing.
Seconds later my feet were not on the ground anymore, I was in someone else's arms. I felt his hands on my wet skin
"Will you stop!, let's go to my car I will drive you there. It's not safe to walk or run there" he released me and he had taken off his coat only left with his white button up which was wet and it revealed his chest.
"Okay" we ran back and we finally made to his car which was parked on the side of the road. Jordan at the front and Amanda at the back, I joined Amanda on the back. That was only then Brody and I realised we were wet.
"Don't worry these seats are waterproof and anyway it isn't my car, I hired it while I'm here" he assured.
The storm started calming down as I directed him to my apartment. Amanda's hand was sweaty against mine as she was holding it the entire time.
We finally made it, but we were too late and things had gotten worse. It was now on fire, it felt like it was an illusion. I couldn't believe my eyes.
The storm had cleared and the rain had stopped. I stepped out the car and ran to my landlord whose arms where on his head.
"Charles?" I said standing beside him as we watched the building burn down. People were hugging each other, thankful that they were still alive. Parents kissing their kids. The firefighters were trying to put the fire out but even I could see that it was pointless.
"I was making my way to your apartment since you haven't paid rent, I knocked and no one answered and I thought you were trying to avoid me. So I unlocked the door since I have the keys and when I realised you weren't home. I was about to leave when the floor started cracking and I knew what was coming. I saw your purse and books and grabbed them quickly, here you go" my landlord said and handed me my purse which had my ID and passport, I'm thankful that they're safe but what about my clothes?
"I'm sorry Charles, I was going to pay your rent" I could feel the tears on my eyeballs.
"The building was over 100 years, it was going to collapse anyway" he didn't move, he was acting bizarre. Like a zombie or possessed freak.
"Charles are you okay" I placed my hand on his shoulder.
"No, but I'm sorry about your clothes, most people were able to save theirs but yours are gone. Just like my income it's gone" he walked away, his walk was uncomfortable.
Amanda,Brody and Jordan suddenly appeared on my side. Amanda's hands went around my shoulders as she hugged me.
"All of my clothes got burnt, my essentials everything. All he saved was my ID and passport",she released and looked at me.
"I'm sorry, I could take you in but you know I have two other roommates and I didn't even pay rent so I doubt they will agree" she had pity in her eyes.
"It's okay, it's not your fault" I assured her.
"You could come stay with us, we are leaving next week anyway" Brody suddenly said.
