Crammed in a one person bed, two girls lay asleep beneath one single blanket. It wasn't even that big of one either, a simple thin grey blanket that couldn't keep out the cold leaking in through the windows. The pair would occasionally rip the blankets from each other during their rest, only to end up sharing it again less than an hour later. They also only shared one pillow, which wasn't as big of a struggle than the blanket.

Sun poured through the glass windows, casting rays onto the plain white walls and onto the simple bed. The object lacked an under space, only having a mattress and a box spring. The room itself wasn't much either: white walls, black soft flooring, a nightstand, a bed next to the window, and  a few minecraft and youtuber posters here and there. The window, previously mentioned, didn't keep the mid January cold from entering the small room and the rest of the house.

Having a bed next to a practically broken window with no shades was bad idea, Marley was finding, as she was slowly starting to wake up.  Of course at first, everything was blurry, but after fumbling for her glasses and putting them on she could see clearly now. Her friend was still asleep, facing the wall and snoring loudly. Her jeans- which she somehow found comfortable to sleep in, were visible as the blanket fell away, and her multi-colored jelly fish sweater hung loosely from her thin frame and stood out in comparison to her tan skin. Sighing, Marley rolled off the merely foot high bed and sat on the floor, using the now open space to stretch her limbs. She groaned as she did so and sat up, searching the floor for her phone. Finding it she rolled on her back and unlocked the phone, yawning. Swiping her short black hair behind her ears and fixing her glasses she looked over her Tumblr and Facebook. Marley's own outfit was simplistic. Black sweatpants and a black 'Achievement Hunter' T-shirt covered her husky, tan body comfortably.

While she did so, Cass was still asleep, neck length brown hair covering her face sloppily. Not being that still of a sleeper, she rolled over and huffed, stretching her arms over her head. Now facing her friend, she cracked her brown eyes open and yawned. "Nasty." She mumbled, yawning again and sitting up.

"Ugly." Marley said quickly, setting her phone to the side and stretching once again. The two girls conversed a bit, Cass bringing attention to the awful cold in the room. "I know," Marley groaned, removing her glasses and wiping them on her shirt before putting them back on. "Fix.. Your window." Cass wrapped herself in the blanket she had been previously using and traveled out of the room, the bottom of the blanket brushing against the carpet.

"Why? It's not like we're staying here for another day anyways." Cass  replied with a grin. She walked into the kitchen, looking over the plain layout momentarily. The set up wasn't very unique (that's what an apartment would get you). A small line of brown counters, the ends completed with a white fridge and stove stood with small cupboards overhead. As she walked in and opened the fridge door, the white tile floor felt ice cold beneath her feet.

"True," Marley said in response, sitting down at the small, two seated table. It too was made out of wood, and had small sharpie doodles of animals and faces on some spots. "But still, this is so stupid."

The girls, after planning for over three years, were going on a road trip. It had taken so long to reach this point for numerous reasons: one, they needed to calculate the distance and cost of gas, hotel, and food money, two, they needed to figure out the route, and three, who was going to accompany them.

Originally, there was going to be four people taking this trip. But, due to events in the past, they ended up decided not to tag along. Whatever, it was their loss. The only bad thing was that it caused a huge set back. Cass and Marley now needed to save up two times the money they had planned. This could take nearly a whole new year to do.

Though it was hard, and the two had to ignore heavy urges to blow their money on the stupidest things imaginable, they managed to save the right amount- Even a bit more. They paid 7 months ahead of their apartment's rent, paid ahead for their car insurance, phone bills, stacked up enough supplies and now, they had everything they needed to go. The hardest part of departing for the period of that was that the girls had to leave their pets with Family members while they were away. Marley's cat was a beige, cream colored Rag doll. He was large, incredibly fluffy, but had the attitude of a bipolar 6 year old. Bear was actually a girl, but the two didn't know about it until they had grown accustomed to calling her a him, so they just continued to. Cass's cat , Foof, was a tortoiseshell, and she was incredibly needy. She loved attention but also loved to bite, and meowed incredibly loudly. Almost annoyingly.

The plan was to go around the US, sight see and do a bunch of stupid things, and then hopefully find a nice house in Colorado, Denver. They had been wanting to live there for a while now because of all the nice houses and reputation the state had. Plus, Cass had a huge thing for scenery and god damn was Colorado beautiful.

"The plan's the same, right?" Marley asked, walking into the living room and sitting down on the small, light blue rocking chair. It creaked as she did, rocking back. ".. Like were not making any last minute changes." Cass nodded at Marley's question, grabbing two cokes and setting them on the countertop. She fixed her blanket over her shoulders and grabbed the drinks again, heading into the living room.

"Not really, unless you wanna stop somewhere on the way." Cass said, giving Marley her drink and sitting down on the couch. "Other than that, nah." She opened her drink, waited for the fizz to die down, and took a sip. Marley however, opened her can a different way. She always had. It was odd, barely even open. She'd open it very, very slightly, just enough for some to come out, and drank it through the small open area. Like normal, that's what she did.

"Eh, maybe the store? I kind of want a monster to start us out."

"Same to be honest." Cass added, taking another sip. "Alright, so, we stop to Neiman's, get a shit ton of food, stop at the corner store, get an entire thing of monsters, then head off for Colorado?"

"You know, I assuming we'd only be getting one, maybe two monsters each, but you know, if we just gotta get an entire pack I'm not complaining." Marley laughed. She leaned back in her chair and sighed. There was a small pause. "...So.. When are we leaving?" She asked quietly, looking over at her friend.

"Uh... Do you wanna head out in maybe an hour or two?" Cass asked, yawning. "I still gotta get ready n' shit."

"Same, to be honest." Marley mumbled taking a drink.

"Alright, so in one hour, we are finally fuckin' heading out?"

        "Hell yeah."

After a long hour of the pair gathering clothes, appliances, and other things they should have packed forever ago, the girls packed their car and headed out for their trip from Saint Clair, Michigan, to Denver, Colorado.

This was going to be one hell of a trip.
