I've been running for hours now, or at least I thought. Everything around me looks the same no matter what direction I take. The way the trees lean and cast an eerie shadow on the stark white snow, makes my fear only intensify. My legs burn and my fingers frozen. My chest aches, as I draw short frantic breaths.
My adrenaline taking over, I run through the trees pushing branches and limbs out of my face, not wasting anytime looking back to see if he's right behind me. The pounding of my chest can be heard in my ears. I don't know where I am or where I'm going, but what I do know is that I need to get as far away from him as possible.
I can hear my breathing quicken as the sound of paws hitting the soft earth becomes distinguishable. I push harder but my legs start shake beneath me. My adrenaline running out, my body tells me to stop and regain myself but I know better than to do that so I don't listen.
The cold winter breeze comes again sending chills down my body. I need to get to somewhere warm or I wont be able to make it much further.
The ground starts to shake as the sound behind me gets closer and closer. I instantly rack my brain trying to think of an idea to hide but I know I'm too late when the ground settles and the sound behind me comes to an immediate stop. I'm stuck. I have no where to go but, with him.
