A/n: Hey y'all! Sorry I keep taking such long breaks. My mental health has been shitty lately and forcing my brain to write has been painful. I want to put out the best story that I can...
But anyways I'm proud of this chapter, not necessarily because it took me a lot of time or I poured my heart and soul into it (not that I didn't), but because I posted it and made it at all.
Thank you for being so patient, I haven't gotten literally any complaints from you guys.Enjoy 😅
Norman's POV
The love I felt for them was remarkable. I couldn't remember the last time I looked away from them as they laughed and cuddled under the beach blue sky.
Emma would kiss Ray on the cheek or lips and Ray would blush and freeze up.
He was the same as he was those few years ago when they were younger and they were still figuring out how real life relationships worked.
We hadn't had any real life advice to go off of so we just went with the flow. It was much easier than we were led to believe.
We just would love each other. The same as we always had. There was very little difference with how we were now than to how we were then.
Except it was better.
Ray had come out of his shell, and had agreed not to hide anything from us anymore.
Emma had become a little more level minded...
A little.
And I had become more fanciful and idealistic. I had been so down to earth and realistic that I had forgotten that I needed to be dreamy sometimes.
Letting go of expectations and deadlines was hard for me.
But I did it for them.
They were my everything.
The time I was separated from them was too long ago to be of significance.
I had never left.
We were in the human world now, the other kids of Grace Field hose had already received their lives of autonomy.
We had chosen to stay united, we of course would visit our friends. But we were mostly together.
And that was fine with me.
"Norman!" My solitude had been disrupted.
"Oh sorry, was I spacing out again?" I asked looking up.
"Yeah! But don't worry I won't hold it against you!"
Ray's voice was soft by the way he spoke.
I saw a enthusiastic sparkly in his eye, one that would've been impossible to find all those years ago, back at the house.
He was the same snarky person he was back then but with a rose colored lens.
His face showed color.
I think I had been staring at him so long that his face had changed from cheery to slightly concerned.
I reached a hand up to touch his cheek, it was warm.
He leaned into the touch after a moment of perplexity. He wore a gentle smile.
I stood up and pulled him in for a hug. He knew I was weird and just accepted it.
He nuzzled his face into my shoulder.
"You know I love it when you're affectionate like this, but Emma is gonna burn down the house if we don't go in and stop her." Ray mentioned with a chuckle.
I knew what that meant and laughed.
Emma could cook, quite well in fact, but every now and then she would "experiment" Patent pending.
"Let's go then." I said taking his hand.
I know I keep asking this...
But in all honesty...
...How did I get so lucky?
