Chapter 9: Kill The Feelings

'Something To Yearn For' Arc: Begin

"Damn it! That bastard...! I'll make sure to kill him with my own hands!"

Ryueen screamed, as he cut down a tree with Deldrimor.

"Calm down, Ryueen. It already happened. There is nothing we can do about it."

I'm trying to calm him down, as I patted his back.

After what happened, it's understandable why he is frustrated. We thought that he and his new comrades, Night Raid, are dancing on the palm of our hands, but it's the other way around. From the very beginning, we were being played at.

I observed the other's reaction in this.

Hirata have his head lowered, and is looking to the ground, while gritting his teeth.

On his right hand, he held his sword. After they escaped using the special class danger beast, Air Manta, he tried to capture them using his vines. But because of the height, his vines didn't reached them.

Ryueen, like what's happening earlier, is relieving his stress by cutting down the trees.

He is probably frustrated because of how he did nothing at all in this mission. The same can be said to me, but it's not like I want to do anything in the first place, as I want to reserve my powers for the future. In Ryueen's case, he is a complete lunatic who enjoys fighting for no reason.

Chiaki is trying to cheer up Hirata, by talking to him, but it's no use, since Hirata can't even hear anything right now.

The reason why Kaich--, Kiyotaka consider Hirata as the most dangerous of us all is because of this. When he is frustrated, he listens to no one in particular. When you anger him, he will lashed out, and no can control him at that state.

Speaking of listening to one, I remembered what Koenji said when we asked him about this new mission.

"Hm~. So this is a reunion, huh? BUHAHAHA! Kaichou is really a monster! Very well... I shall watch to the sidelines."

Now that I think about it... That bastard... Does he know that there is a loop hole to the plan we made?

Koenji is more of a strategist, more than me. The reason why I was appointed as the fuku kaichou of Shadow Assassins is because Koenji is a slacker. He doesn't take any missions seriously, if it doesn't interest him.

And lastly, Kiryuuin is looking up on the sky as well. To the direction where the Air Manta flew, to be more precise.

It's her first mission and she failed miserably. She thought everything is according to her plan, but in truth, she is just being played at. Her pride just got crushed to pieces, and our moral decreased.

But deep down inside, I'm glad that the plan didn't work.

Kiryuuin Kaichou's mistake was that she underestimated Kiyotaka. Even though he left for the Revolutionary Army, I still have a high respect for him as a leader, as a warrior, and as a human. Naturally, you'll get annoyed when the one you respect got mocked and underestimated.

I heard Kiryuuin Kaichou's voice called out to me.

"What is it, Kiryuuin Kaichou?"

Her bangs are covering her eyes, so I can't see what expression she is making.
