He set his eyes on the solar system,
decided to orbit the sun.
He fell to his knees
And whispered
His fervent declarations.
Formed invisible strings
Everlasting ties irrevocably bound
To the ethereal sun.
The core of his life.
So he spun and spun and spun and
ricocheted rainbows.
And then he blinked.
In that one moment,
In that mere instant of blindness,
He sensed that she was burning.
That he was too close to the sun.
She burned and he burned and they burned.
Everlasting devotion is futile
when devotion is not everlasting.
So her last blaze of breath ignited his heart
And it shattered like glass.
The fragments flew and drifted and fled
Never to be seen together again.
