Cady was thrown to the ground, almost instantly she felt arms around her, holding her and almost cradling her, a familiar voice hummed calmingly

"Jan?" She gasped, opening her eyes, her girlfriends faintly freckled face smiled softly back at her

"Hey you."

"Janis!"

Cady wrapped her arms around the taller girl

"Hey sweetie...."

"What did they do to you janjan?" Cady asked, already having seen the delicate fox ears and tail that matched her hair color but not wanting to stop hugging Janis in order to check what animal they'd crossed her with

"Bird..." Janis murmered into Cadys frizzy hair, Cady felt feather things that had to be Janis's wings around her

When she finally stepped back and looked at Janis she saw she had large and beautiful dark grey wings, with almost golden and white flecks on them.

"Jay....." she whispered

" I know sweetie...."

There where actually two other people currently being held at the lab

The first was heather chandler, she had traits of a wolf, with furry ears emerging from her blonde hair

The second was Veronica sawer, she was a cat, and also happened to be Janis's cousin.

And Veronica hadn't shut up about heather literally being a bitch for the past two weeks.

Honestly Janis had never been so glad that Damian and Gretchen were overprotective as hell in her life. Cady had been about to be pulled away from her for a test. Cady couldn't take that pain! But then as if in cue, police broke into the lab, led by Damian Aaron and the plastics, along with two other girls dressed in yellow and green, those two carried croquet mallets in their corresponding color. As the police dealtwith the scientists, all of the young adults ran over to the cage they were kept in

"Heather!" Regina cried out as she opened the cage and fell into the other blondes arms

Yellow heather (hey, Janis was bad at keeping them separate in her mind. Ah yes, that one was macnamara) held a quietly purring Veronica in her arms, and Damian hugged Janis and cady close.

"How the fuck did you find us?" Janis asked after they had broken apart.

"Oh- gretch and I have been tracking you" he pointed to Gretchen, who Karen was fiercely protective over at the moment due to her being pregnant. Gretchen gave a small wave and grin.

" I- you know what I'm not even surprised anymore"

Adjusting with their traits in normal society as well as personally defiantly came with its challenges

Heather would growl at any boys (and girls -_-) who DARED, try to flirt with her girlfriend, so Regina quite often had to deal with dragging her wolf like girlfriend away from very confused civilians who had just been growled at by a wolf lady.

Veronica wasn't as bad, most of her behavioral changes were cute ones, she would purr, lie in sunspots and was fascinated by laser pointers (duke had discovered this and now brought one whenever she visited her and mac) though she would hiss and occasionally scratch if startled.

Cady and Janis had less than the others though, there biggest problem occurred when they were out shopping with their daughter (who had been OVERJOYED when her moms returned home safely)

"Ember sweetie can you grab some milk?" Cady said to her daughter.

"Ok mom"

"Grab cookies on your way back!" Janis called after their child

"Yes mama!" Ember giggled over her shoulder

A woman approached Janis, who had her wings folded against her back

"Excuse me mam," Janis spun around "would you mind taking those off, they look demonic" Janis internally dubbed the woman Karen (even though she knew a very nice Karen) before responding.

"I can't"

"And why is that?"

"They're not a costume?"

"Don't be ridiculous!" The woman huffed, rolling her eyes

"I'm not joking-" just then Cady aprouched the two

"You as well? Now both of you take those ridiculous costumes off!" The Karen growled

"They're not costumes mam, we were the victims of a involuntary human experiment and this was the result, not if you will excuse my wife and I-"

The woman's face softened before growing disgusted

"Wife?"

"Yeah. Married for seven years" Janis said with a grin, preparing herself for a attack on her sexuality and her wife.

"Your gays?!?" The woman choked out, looking sick

"I'm bisexual" Cady replied with a fake grin

"Same thing!" The woman replied, cady opened her mouth to argue and give her biphobia speech but Janis beat her too it.

"Ok first of all fuck you-"

"I don't associate with dy*es" the Karen said, turning and stomping away
