Today is Sunday and two days since I hung out with Harry. I haven't texted him since, mostly because I was afraid of bothering him. So, of course, my phone felt like a ton of bricks sitting in my back pocket.

I'm laying across the couch, flicking through the channels. Danny is on the floor, sprawled out with a crayon between his fingers and a coloring book underneath him.

Mom hasn't come out her room since yesterday, but at this point we're all used to it. I try to stay off of facebook in fear of there being any new big announcements by my father's wife. It hurts me to see it, but I'm just better at avoiding it.

My phone begins to ring in my back pocket, and I grab it quickly in hopes that Harry is calling me. I can't help but feel disappointment when I realize that it's not. However, it is someone that usually would not be calling me.

"Elijah?" I ask hesitantly. I sit up, lowering the volume of the TV.

"Hey, Alina," I hear his low voice through the phone speaker. "How've you been?" He asks.

As I answer him, I get up, zipping up my sweater and heading for the front door. "Good, good. You?" I walk through the hallway and down the stairs, looking for some privacy. None of my friends or family new about what happened with Harry, and I have a feeling that Elijah might mention it.

"I'm doing well, thanks," he says. "Listen, I know what happened with Harry didn't work up, but you can come play over at the club whenever."

I smile at the gesture. "Thank you, I really appreciate that." I hadn't even originally thanked Elijah afterwords for introducing me to Harry.

Some friend I am.

"Stop thanking me." I hear Elijah laugh. "Are you free tonight?"

"Um..." I hesitate because I'm hoping that I won't be free. That Harry will invite me out. But I also don't want to sit at home waiting around for him. "Yeah, why?" I give in.

"Good," Elijah responds. "We're going to a show tonight."

"A show?" I ask.

"Yeah," he says. "Harry's coming too. He's been super busy so he asked me to call you and tell you. Does 8 work for you?"

I smile at the mention of Harry's name, knowing that  I would get to see him again tonight. "That's perfect."

"I'm gonna come get you then, okay?"

I confirm with Elijah, and then head back into the apartment already feeling giddy. It's about 1PM at this point, so I have a long way to go unfortunately.

I didn't yet understand my feelings for Harry, mostly because I didn't know him super well yet. It's hard to tell what's really going on with me at this point. All I know is that, he makes me feel better. The feeling I get with him is something that I haven't felt in a long time.

I feel happy.

I got Danny all situated for the night. I cleaned him up for bed, gotten him dinner, and made sure he took his meds. I checked on mom too, but she was still in bed. It's been harder to get her to eat lately.

"Mom," I tell her from the door. "There's food in the fridge, okay? Try to eat if you can."

The smell coming from her room isn't great. I know that tomorrow I'll have to get her in the shower and clean the room. I couldn't let her rot in her bed, even if she wanted to.

"Thanks, baby," she mutters. I close the door after that, the sight of her being much too awful for me to want to think about any longer.

I go into Danny and I's room, kissing him goodbye and asking him for the thousandth time if he was feeling okay. Once he reassures me, I put on my black heels that were laying on the floor by the door.
