Klaus had insisted on taking you to the carnival, you had obviously tried to say you had other plans but he was insistent. So here you where in his car driving to the carnival, the last time you had been to one was 15 years ago.
"Don't look so glum love, you'll have fun." He promised when he noticed you pouting at the window. He placed his hand on you cheek and ran the pads of his thumb over it, you leaned into his touch and began to see the good side to this.
When you got there he Klaus paid for your wrist bands and Then pulled you to the rides, you went on a lot of the ones that spun and went upside down. The roller coasters had him laughing as you would grip his hand tightly, and you would laugh at him after a ride that would spin and he would be "dizzy".
But there was one ride he refused to take you on till it got dark, that was the Ferris wheel. At first you thought he was scared of heights, but you remembered that he was over a thousand years old.
It was around nine pm now and the sun was starting to set and the sky was a brilliant hue of pinks and purples, Klaus had began to drag you in the direction of the Ferris wheel leaving you confused.
"Nik where are we going?" Your voice rang out into his ears, he turned to look at you over his shoulder but not slowing his pace.
"You'll see darling, just be patient." He said simply while still walking, when Klaus stopped walking you had reached the line of the Ferris wheel, you both stood in line for a good half an hour.
When it was your turn to get on he wrapped his arm around your shoulder and suddenly he became nervous. But he tried to play it off, he pulled you closer. When you reached the top he turned to look at you, he had a hint of something in his eye.
"Y/N Gilbert, I remember the day I first met you. You were wearing (your favorite outfit) and your hair was styled for your night out with Jeremy." Klaus started with his speech almost as soon as you looked back at him.
"I know we had our disagreements and our bad days, but through it all you stuck by me. I love you, I don't know when I finally realized, maybe I always knew. I think maybe I was scared to say I loved you."
You begun to tear up, remembering the first day you heard him say he loved you, and the rest of the days after."I know you might not believe me, but I really do care for you. More than I have cared for anyone, even my family. So y/n Gilbert will you make me the happiest you could ever make me, and marry me?"
By now he had begun to pull a velvet box from his pocket, tears streaming down your face as you nodded profusely. He pulled you into a hug and then placed the ring on your finger, you kissed him softly and then he deepened the kiss as the Ferris wheel began moving.
You reached the bottom and he then drove you home, he laid with you in bed and cuddled you till morning.
