today, karl decided, was the day he would finally get out of bed and do something.

he looked at his clock, which read 8:16 a.m., and questioned when the last time he went outside was as he was pretty pale from the lack of sunlight. he got up from the silky sheets on his bed groggily and started to get ready for a new day.

he soon would take it for granted.

he entered his bathroom which was painted a pretty sky blue. he realized he accidentally slept in his headphones, on a call with quackity. he took off the headphones, letting his long, dirty blonde hair fall. he took a shower and got dressed. he put on a collared white button-up shirt, a pair of beige cargo pants that fanned out at the cuffs, and a navy blue sweater that had several large white stripes across the center. he decided to blow dry his hair so it would be extra fluffy today. he checked his twitter notifications as his put on his white mid-calf socks and checkered vans.

karl put down his phone. he walked over to his kitchen, which wasn't that far of a walk since he lived in a pretty small one-floor house. it was decorated nice, he thought, with succulents sitting peacefully on countertops and a variety of abstract paintings hanging around the walls. he had a very quaint grey couch sitting next to the kitchen counter, and a small glass coffee table in front. when he first moved in, he installed wooden cabinets around his tv. he regretted this decision as it didn't really go with the aesthetic of his house, but it did make for good storage. he planned on either painting the cabinets a different color or taking the cabinets out altogether.

he wouldn't be able to do either of them.

after finally eating the raisin oatmeal he prepared for himself, he headed outside, locking the door. he entered his car and asked siri "parks in greenville, north carolina". he scrolled through the list of places the automated helper suggested for him and found a park that was, he guessed, built recently. there weren't many yelp reviews on it and he never went before, so he tapped his phone and drove as siri read him the directions.

he pulled into the small driveway, reading "kinoko park" engraved onto a big concrete stone. he pulled into a parking spot and got out of the driver's seat. he scanned the area and saw a couple kids playing on the playground along with a couple parents carefully watching them. he smiled at the sight of a dad playing hide-and-seek with his probably two-year-old daughter.

he started to walk along the concrete path that encircled the whole park. some joggers passed him and he stopped to pet a very cute black pomeranian that ran up to sniff his scent. he continued his stroll and took in the sunlight when he noticed a man sitting on a yellow, or maybe green, bench.
