On rainy days, some people stay in and catch up on their sleep, others might spend quality time with family and friends, but you on the other hand was walking your tired ass to work, your brain still functioning how early in the morning it was....
Your footsteps splattered in the puddles below you, the sound so nostalgic to your ears. You close your eyes as you inhaled the earthy smell that lingered in the air, the smell that comes after a long rainstorm. A breeze blows, and you can feel wet specks across your face, making you fix the position of your umbrella. A typical gloomy grey day may be miserable for some, but for you it was the most peaceful thing ever. You didn't see it as a gloomy, rainy day. You saw another day to seize and do all you can.
It was your day to open up the store so you had to wake up early, the time on your phone read 6:30 AM as you walked closer to your destination. It was still a tad bit dark outside so a couple of street lights remained on, making it easier for you to see.
I didn't eat breakfast so I'll just make a tea when I get inside
The store building was in plain sight for you but as you looked more at it you noticed a figure sitting beside the main entrance, causing you to squint your eyes to make out who it was. When that was a fail you just prayed it wasn't some homeless person because you would've had to tell them to leave hence your boss hates when they sleep outside the store.
As you got closer the figure noticed your presence and stood up from it's spot, their height was taller than you thought.
Lord please don't make this be a weirdo
"I was wondering when someone was gonna come" The figure spoke.
Why does that voice sound familiar? Oh wait
Now that you'd fully reached your destination you realized it was the man from yesterday, the one with the black rectangle across his nose. He had the biggest smile on his face which makes you to give him one back.
How long was he waiting out here?
"Oh hi, yeah the store opens at seven, were you waiting here long?" You shook the water off your umbrella, closing it back up. Before you walked up the entrance doors and pulled out the key.
