Thank god for this coffee machine.
Drink. Sit. Watch the water churn. Watch. Eat. Drink. Sit.
Outside again, cold terrifying water, endless darkness so deep and huge it's feels suffocating. I- Is something there? In the distance, near the mouth of a cave.... Can't see it's face. Gone.
Couldn't be what I heard. A voice?
There's no other intelligent life on this planet. Not someone like me, could they be?
I search that area more, day after day, I find signs of movement, a trail in the sand left by propulsion systems.
I've found some sort of hideout. Going to investigate soon.
Saw it again. This time it thought I wasn't looking. Watching me? Why?
Not hostile? Maybe. Either way, I choose confrontation, if I find either help or an end...I'm interested.
I've entered the hideout. Waiting for this thing. It's...similar to the alien architect here but smaller scale...could they be...
"What are you doing here!?" A voice comes after the soft hiss of an air locked door.
I turn around, slight panic in my chest as I wasn't prepared for the intrusion. But I steel myself as quick as I can. I step toward them, hands outstretched in a placating manner...maybe if I show that I'm peaceful...
They humanoid alien flinches slightly "No! Don't! You could get infected!"
I stop and blink.... I think for a moment before pulling out my scanner, I scan myself and show them the outcome...
"Oh no.... You're already infected..." they dare to reach out, hesitant their hand hovers unsure over my shoulder before letting it drop, "I'm sorry I couldn't help you in time...." voice is kind... otherworldly..."I've been watching you for a few weeks now, I've been watching your ship since it crashed. I didn't want to scare you...I thought maybe I could find a way to help you. But...I haven't made much progress yet....I'm the only one of my kind still here... I'm lacking resources...and a cure isn't easy to find."
They sigh, replacing their hand back at their side..."And unfortunately there's no way to leave the planet yet. But all the same I would strongly advise against it...the infection could be spread who knows how far. It would be criminal to leave the planet carrying the infection. Do you...agree?" they ask expectantly.
Nodding vigorously... Wouldn't be right, agreed.
They look relieved.
I motion to look around.
"Oh- o-of course. Take a look around, I'm sure you're very curious..."
finds the bedroom. bed is like ours, onky round and dips slightly. Like a bowl. Takes a seat, then lays down. it's cozy here. could drift off easily.
They slide into the spot next to me, "Comfy isn't it? Is yours like this too?" voice is innocent, laying close almost too close.
Blushing, timid gestures, clutching arms and making space as politely as possible...
"What's wrong? Did i say something offensive?"
it's usually...intimate to lay in a bed together....
