The beautiful lady draped in a saree
that listens to her in-laws and husband
is deemed as perfect and sanskari
Wears gold jewelry and does the chores
She prays every day and doesn't complain
She is always up before four
She should be the role model of every girl
they should aspire to be a mother
and consider their family their whole world
Then there is the driven and career-focused woman
Always seemed to be portrayed as spiteful and snarky
Girls are always told to never be like one
She is passionate and driven
She wants a career
and not to be under someone's submission
Why is she not the role-model too
Of the girls who don't want to be limited to being a mother
The world is changing why can't the Indian Cinema's view
Both are beautiful and smart in their own way
yet, somehow, only one accepted
We hear only one's voice and the other doesn't get a say
