20. Flowers

Molly's POV

Serena was going to have to do it. Kill her own flesh and blood. Her sister.

"I have to," I suddenly spoke. Carl and I were sitting in the storage room of the gymnasium late at night because we couldn't sleep.

"Do what?" Carl asked curiously.

"Kill Ivy," I was terrified to do it but Serena was probably laying awake staring at her ceiling thinking about what was going to happen.

"You don't have-"

"I do," As I spoke tears welled up in my eyes, "Serena won't be able to do it. But, I will to keep the group safe."

Carl just sat there. He was taking in what I said. Finally he broke the silence, "Maybe you're right," he hesitated, "She killed Jess. She killed Carol. She might kill Serena. But, go as back up. If Serena can't do it step in for her."

"Okay," I liked his idea better than mine. We both laid down and fe straight to sleep.

I secretly followed Serena as she walked into the room she shared with Judith, that was next to Carol and Noah's. She knocked.

"Come in," stated a voice, Ivy's voice. Edging closer as Serena walked in, I tried to reach a point where I could see through the window.

"I brought you some flowers," Serena smiled and handed her sister a small bouquet of white flowers. She took her gun out of her holster and hid it behind her back.

"Daisies! I love daisies!" Ivy jumped up and down as she held the daisies up to her face.

"I'm glad," Serena started to tear up. Putting her gun back in her holster, she looked down at her combat boots. She couldn't do it.

"I really do love daisies," Ivy plopped down on the new cot she had made with Serena's help.

"I remember," Serena smiled.

"Daisies are beautiful," A bullet went through Ivy's head. My bullet. She fell back on the cot and her arm fell to the side. The daisies fell out of her skinny hand, and onto the floor, followed by a waterfall of blood. I had just killed someone.
