A/N: also I'm changing the timeline just a bit to fit the intro, so Elijah and the gang will be discussing the plan the day before the full moon  (this is the first chapter cause the prologue and cast are a wok in progress)

She combed a hand through her hair tugging slightly at the knots made by the wind. The hum of the engine quieting down as she slowly drove past the 'Welcome to Mystic Falls' sign. The cool breeze continued to ruffle up her white waves as it blew past while in her 1985's convertible. A small sigh left her pink lips thinking about how she was finally going to see her best friend again after over a decade. The last time she'd seen him was in the mid-90s after just after he had seen his brother again. Being in need of comfort they travelled together for a few months before she had to leave for a work purposes.

Driving down the streets of the town she soon realised she had no idea where she was going so, she decided to ask one of the locals. In small towns like these, everyone knows everyone she thought to herself.

She saw a small establishment with the words 'Mystic Grill' sprawled across a large sign at the front and decided to get a coffee after hours of nonstop driving. Pulling into the parking lot she stopped the engine and took the keys out of the ignition. Pushing open her car door open, her black, leather combat boots hitting the ground with a 'click'. Running her hand once again through her white hair, she made sure it didn't look horrible before walking up to the door of the grill and pushing it open.

All eyes turned towards the newcomer walking through the doors with an aura of calmness and respect coming off her. Her eyes scanned the people in the grill. Seeing everyone looking at her, she walked slightly quicker to the counter of the bar, not used to getting so much attention. As slid onto the stool she could hear the hushed whispers and stares of everyone around her.

A bartender walked up in front of her, and she ordered a black coffee with two sugars, handing the guy a ten dollar note.

"Just a second I'll be back with the change."

He walked away. Leaning onto the counter, she tilted my head to the side seeing a blonde woman probably in her 40s and a blonde guy who looked around 18 in a hushed conversation. They both looked tense and kept letting their eyes stray around them to see if anyone was listening.

Her eyebrows furrowing together, she pushed a piece of hair behind her ear to listen in to the conversation. "I can't do this anymore Sheriff. I've been with her the past few days and I'm putting on the best show of my life. But either she is too, or she's still the same Caroline." The blonde guy stressed.

"She's not the same. She's a vampire." The women now known to be the sheriff says. Her eyebrows shoot up at this new information, now her body fully turning towards the two that are seated a few meters away, with a new interest in this conversation. Are there other vampires in mystic falls? What has my best friend been up to?

"I don't even know what that means." The boy sighs shaking his head.

"Look I know this is hard to understand, but my family, we were raised with this. They're monsters, Matt." AH, his names matt, "They have no soul, no humanity."

She's wrong about that, all super-naturals have some humanity, even if they choose not to show it.

The bartender comes back with her coffee successfully cutting her out of the conversation. He hands her, her change and to-go cup and walks off. Looking back at the two people that are now known as the Sheriff and a boy named Matt she decides to walk over to their table. As she's walking up, they both go silent and look up expectantly.
