CHAPTER 1

5 years. 5 long years it’s been since I have spoken to my best friend. Or I guess ex-best friend. That friend was Cody Simpson.

Our parents meet in collage. They became really good friends then. After collage they kind of lost touch. Then my dad died when I was 5 and my mom decided that we, her, my little brother and sister, who are twins, and me, move to Gold Coast, Australia. And fate had made us move right next door to the Simpson household.

My name is Kaylee Rogerson. I'm 17. I'm your average girl. Brown hair, brown eyes. Has no hand-eye coronation at all. Obsessed with Justin Bieber, One Direction, Taylor Swift, and Greyson Chance. I do hip hop, jazz and ballet. Oh, and has been best friends with Cody Simpson since I was 5.

When Cody and I were 12, we were messing around online, posting videos of him singing different songs. Soon enough, some big shot from the music industry found him and sent off to live in LA. So the Simpsons packed their bags, calling the Gold Coast house their vacation home (which they haven't been to in hum... 5 years...) and moved to LA. I still remember saying goodbye to Cody and the promises he so terribly broke.

*Flashback*

"I'm going to miss you, Cody, so much"

"Babe... I will too... I promise you though that I will never forget you and will talk to you at least once a month" He reached in his pocket and pulled out a necklace. It was a heart-shaped locket on a simple gold chain. I held up my hair so he could put it on. I swiftly opened the locket to see a picture of me and him. My mom took it a few weeks ago. Both of us were sitting down and I was kissing Cody’s cheek.

I looked up at him with tears in my eyes. I gave him a huge hug and he hugged back. Our hug lasted for a bit and when we pulled away, I looked into his eyes. They were so blue, something I was always so jealous of. Something I would never forget. He kissed my forehead and walked towards the plane thingy. A few tears ran down my cheeks as my mom pulled me away.

*End Flashback*

Cody did forget about me and hasn't talked to me in 4 years. Enough time for him to forget me. It doesn't help that I practically fell in love with him. And there hasn't been a day since the last time I talked to him where I don't think of him.

Like now when my new best friend, Arabella, is talking about him. And she has tickets for both of us for the concert tomorrow.

"I am NOT going. Bring someone else but NOT me. You know about him and he practically broke my he-" The shrill of my cell phone interrupted me. I quickly looked at my phone. Seeing it was my mom I picked it up.

Phone Conversation-

Me: Hey mom!

Mom: Hi sweetie! Guess who just called me!

Me: Who?

Mom: Angie Simpson! She wants to meet up with all of us! Remember Cody? Well he has a concert tomorrow so they will be in town for a few days! They are finally using their old house!

Me: Wait what? Angie Simpson? Like our odd next door neighbor Angie Simpson?

Mom: Of course her silly! Who else? Well anyway, I'm at the door now! We have to be at the restaurant at 6 and its 3! I have to get the twins and I ready so hurry, hurry, hurry!

My mom hung up and I looked at Bella in disbelief. I can't believe I have to go tonight. Bella heard the phone conversation and was screaming.

"OH MY GOD I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU GET TO HAVE DINNER WITH THE CODY SIMPSON!!!! YOU HAVE TO GET ME AN AUTOGRAPH!!!"
