A/N: I am super excited to have (finally) written the second part to this original one shot. I am probably writing this into an actual story, but it will not be for a while. The more interest it seems there is for a continuation the more likely I am to start it earlier. Until then, enjoy the two-chapter samples!

(H/c) strands danced before my eyes along the gentle breeze flowing through the grassy clearing. Warmth flowing freely into my form from the humongous mongrel beside me. The soft black fur bringing me comfort as I stoked him mindlessly, contemplating the morning he arrived and the nightly happenings immediately prior. I accepted the company of this stray with little effort after the "dream" I had the night before, his protective nature providing me comfort from the anxieties that have steamed from being alone. After all, who could turn down a dog with no home.

Shifting I brought my company's form into view, voice softly asking if he was ready to continue exploring the trails behind the large estate I had inherited. Ears perked and head tilted slightly to the right he gazed at me. A deep bark signaling his answer as he raised his muscular form from the earth. Following suit, a slight pop reverberated as my bones accepted, I was using them again. Striding towards the opposite side of the clearing another sea of deep green clouded the horizon, broken only by slivers of light from the sun on three pre-determined paths.

"Well Grimm, which do we take?"

Unshaken by the question, my arm was pulled to the left-most path, the dog never actually stopping his trek since we had taken our break. That path would have been my last choice; stricken with more prevalent darkness from an unkempt overhead, tree roots spreading across the once stone path screaming it was no good. However, the ecstasy of curiosity began overpowering my other emotions, as a result, I followed the focused form of my pet. He had yet to show genuine interest in anything, yet his ears were now pointed forward and eyes squinted in determination.

My stomach began to clench in uncertainty when the previously green trees surrounding our path suddenly changed. Dark scorch marks covering the trunks of the new trees, yet top canopy still intact leaves seemingly blackened only by ash but not disintegrated. Warning bells sounded in my head as an alert to danger, shuffling ever slower down the path with an intent to stop and turn around. Grimm had other plans. His head turning towards me, his usually chocolate eyes taking a soft hue of blue capturing my attention. My hand brushing against my shirt as I cocked my head as he normally did, questions bombarding my head as to why my dog's eyes would change color.

Before I could answer my own question, his head snapped back feet stepping forward again tugging carefully on the lead between us. Slight flutters went off in my chest as I perceived him challenging me, turning, and pulling him towards the clearing back home. Deep chest grumbles ross through the silent air, turning I saw his form never budged face still pointed the opposite direction heels dug deep into the dirt. Once again, I pulled, this time a deep rumble followed by a sharp bark followed; still not interested in me only the path forward. Giving one final attempt I turned completely, walking towards home with my own sense of purpose like that dog whisperer talks about.

"Ohhh, shiiiiiiittt!" the words lurched through my chest as the earth slammed into my back, the blurring of canopy leaves my only view as my left hand struggled with the nylon loop, I had idiotically put my whole hand through. Harsh stinging travelled up and down my back as each tree root added another scrape or cut. Flashes of black fur and paw pads to my front as I realized he was putting every ounce of his weight and effort into dragging me with his harness giving him full power.

Throbbing pain spurred through my head when Grimm slowed, his form sitting eagerly before an ornate door nestled into a cliff-side. Shakily dragging my body into a sitting position and removing the loop from my wrist, I assessed my situation. I had no idea how far or how long he drug me. I was also aware of the sticky warmth running down my entire backside, but oblivious to how deep my wounds were. Suddenly, it felt like a harpoon was shoved through my skull as Grimm tilted his head towards the sky and let loose a normally harmonic howl.

KOSH, CAHH

The odd sound of air being pressure released was heard as the ornate door before us swung slowly open. Grimm glancing slightly at myself, eyes now burning in that blue hue, before walking proudly into the opening. Nylon slipping from my fingers my eyes strained to see where he was headed, alas all I heard was the distinct clicking of his nails as he proceeded down a flight of stairs. Butterflies of fear immediately swarmed my body; not just for my new friend's safety but mine as well. Without thought my feet picked my body from the ground and began descending the dark corridor, I had not even realized until I was inside, the door slammed shut behind me.

The nausea of panic set in as I grappled at the door handle, pushing, pulling, trying everything to free myself. When nothing worked, a small wave of relief washed over me. Most would be even more panicked, but I saw it as an opportunity to have the path chosen for me. Now I could only follow my dog, there was no way back.

"Recues they aren't worth it."

My hand snapped into contact with my cheek, appalling I could be referencing Family Guy at a time like this. Taking both hands to feel the cold stone along the staircase I began a careful decent. My eyes carefully adjusting to what little light it could get through pitiful crevices, shadows beginning to appear but never actual forms. To calm myself I began counting the steps.

Twenty...

Twenty-One...

My voice began to slip out while counting as exhaustion was taking over my body.

"Sixty..."

My nose twitched as a scent entered; floral, distinct, and almost intoxicating.

"Sixty-two..."

A fresh coolness washed over my body as I found myself collapsing against the rough stone, eyes dropping as my adrenaline ran dry and the effects of my wounds began kicking in.

"S-sixy-sii- "

My body lurched forward my stamina sapped, the guarantee of a nasty fall not registering as a small bark bounced in the corridor.

Grimm?

Eyes closing, I felt the light breeze as I fell, sharp rocks being replaced by a solid, soft form.

"Saved from yet another nasty bruise," the honey-dripped voice from my dream entering my ears. A soft hum of contentment being my only response, "but it seems I didn't save you from all of them."

Body then lifted gently; I felt the soft feathers tickling my nostrils once again as he held me close to his form. The careful padding of paws and his footsteps providing the perfect white noise as we descended further into the depths. With a weak voice I managed to mumble out my only thought before slipping into the clutches of sleep.

"I'm glad he led me to you. It was my fault... for... getting scared."
