I woke up and realized everything was surprisingly quiet, even more than I would like to. When I went downstairs I saw that everyone had left. At first I smiled because I usually enjoy my loneliness. But the hours kept passing by and I started getting worried, my loved ones were gone and I wasn't sure how to start looking for them.
After taking a few minutes to think my next moves, I took my blue guitar, the one my dad bought me when I was eight and went out to start the journey. As I was crossing through the threshold, Manquito appeared and stood on my left shoulder, I really love that bird. He's a Rufous Hornero, a very common bird around here. And I named him Manquito because it comes from the Spanish word 'manco' which means one-armed. I don't know what could have happened to him but now he looks like a cool pirate bird.
I walked with Manquito for hours, but no one was found, the town was empty. And as far as I'm concerned, we're not Sherlock and Enola, but this is a mystery that needs to be solved.
While I was losing myself in my thoughts, something hit my head. It was a big ring with the shape of a lion's head. And then I heard a guy shouting at me -Run!!- he said. A huge multitude was chasing him... Wait, they were chasing us, why me?! He took my hand and I started running by his side, I didn't understand what was going on but for some reason Manquito did and he started flying to help us find a good place to hide. I could see out of the corner of my eye that someone was laying on the street, I wanted to help but the guy next to me said -Don't even think about it- and after saying that, someone else appeared and started eating the unconscious person. I freaked out and then everything became dark.
