"The backroom level 0" (part 2)

"Ahah yeah that's definitely a story." Zion said joking slightly as he slowly began to trust these strangers.

Cavid lowers the pistol. Realizing she is out numbered. "Now. I need to know. How many of you are from earth. E-a-r-t-h." Cayden asks.

"Also Excuse me." He gestures to Dafodile "Are you human? Or are those ears real."

"I'm from earth, but who knows, we could all be from different realities, like I've never heard of Zion before, he said he was famous." Zaphen says.

"Well technically, we are all from earth but from the science point of view not yours, so technically we are aliens of our own kind, however i'm pretty sure almost everyone here is human" says mark pointing out the obvious.

"Alice and I, are. Although, she's told me that she's from 2020, but I'm from 1985." Lillian smiled and returned to Alice's side, putting her hand on her shoulder and getting her to calm down a little.

"You the one who just pointed that out" He points to mark "Are you a scientist as well?"Cayden widens his eyes and looks at the wall he came through.

"Nope, just have lots of weird hobbies and tricks" Mark says responding to the one who pointed to him.

"Fascinating" Cayden says over his shoulder.

"I'm from 2021, but I've been acting since I was 10, which was 2011, I've been in a lot of movies, like the Harry Potter series and the tv series I'm working in right now, Romeo and Julian, I'm Julian." Zion explains remembering a slight memento of before.

"I ship it," Alice joked.

"Actually the guy who plays Romeo, is actually named Romeo, and he is my boyfriend :)." Zion says happily.

"Nice," Alice responded, not really wanting to tell him about the tiny fact of how deadly this place is.

Dafodile then speaks up and puts one arm around mark to signal that they are together in this. "We do not have time periods from where we come from so its rather hard with timely things its kind of like a reset every day type of thing."

"Alright. does anyone know how to get out or are we screwed?" Cavid asks trying to see if anyone has more then what they let on.

"I do," Alice spoke up.

"Well then lets hear it" Cavid responds.Cayden turns to hear what they are saying. In his journal he draws Dafodile. figuring they aren't human and thus more interesting.

"Yeah I have my three cats I need to feed, OH GOD WHOS GOING TO GIVE THEM THEIR FOOD!!" Zaphen says loudly, but not yelling.

Alice took a breath in and began to speak. "Okay, as you've been made aware, we're all kinda stuck in this place, called the Backrooms. The Backrooms are organized into different 'levels', per say. Right now, we are in level 0, also known as the lobby. There is supposedly a way out in a place called 'The End'. In order to get there, you need to go up through the levels to get to the top one and then The End. Normally, you'd be able to get there in a few days, but... Things have been going wrong lately. Basically, the Backrooms have started working in a more linear fashion, meaning we have to go though each individual level using stairs, ladders, and elevators."

Cayden jots down the information into his journal.

"Wait so does that mean some levels are changing slowly?" Asked mark in a concerned voice.

Cayden stops writing. "Perhaps this dimension has a mind of it's own?"

"No, it's more like... It's falling apart. Whatever is holding it up is breaking. I don't know why, though," Alice explained.

"Well if I learned anything from sci-fi novels, be careful with whatever you do, and don't get too close to anyone." Zaphen mentioned. "Also that's fucking creepy."

"Huh. Well that contradicts my previous hypothesis. The idea that this place acted like a glue to the multiverse. Holding it together like, well Glue." Cayden explains in his mad scientist type of way.

"A train station seems to be more appropriate," Lillian added. "Many worlds connect, but we don't know if they connect back because we don't know of anyone making it out."

"How do you know so much about this place?" Zion asked curiosity getting the better of him.
