Complicated Love Chapter 1

23 years old and I still don't know what to do with my life.

My parents kicked me out and now I'm just on the streets. "hey why is someone like you so beautiful doing on the streets alone" a random man asked I look up at him. "just leave a girl be will you?" he sits next to me. "don't worry I wont hurt you or anything, fuck all men who do that shit, I'm just offering a place to stay, I promise that's it" it was getting cold outside, at this point ill take what I can get. I shrug my shoulders. "I guess, thank you." He nods at me and leads me to his car. "its just a few minutes away, I'm Jake by the way" he reaches his hand out to shake mine. "I'm Aurora" I say connecting his hand with mine. I get into his car, the car ride was for the most part silent. "alright were here" he says cutting the engine. He opens the door to the house and I see people sitting on the couch. "guys this is Aurora she was on the streets and I decided to take her here" I shyly wave. "hey welcome, thanks Jake, she would have been freezing tonight, I'm Sam nice to meet you" he says shaking my hand. Everyone seemed really nice. they didn't have a problem with me at all. I'm glad I at least have somewhere to stay tonight. They helped make me feel at home. There were a few girls there who were super nice.

My favorite was definitely Tara.

Don't tell the other girls.

"how do you think Colby will think of her" I hear one of the guys say. Whos Colby? I suddenly hear breathing behind me. I quickly turn around and bump into a hard chest.

I just answered my own question

"Now whos this beauty" he says still looking at me. "I found her on the streets, thought she could stay with us" Jake says in almost a whisper. "so she has no purpose" Excuse me? What do you mean I have no purpose. "Yeah? and what's your purpose big man?" I say looking at him with anger. "Oh she has quite a mouth doesn't she?" he spits out. "Still haven't answered my question" He seemed shocked by my response. "keep her, she'll be useful soon"

"keep me?" I say confused

He grabbed my jaw softly. "Well sweetheart, you did just involve yourself with the strongest mafia in town"

I'm sorry what?

"What no snarky comment this time" I stay quiet. He let out a little chuckle. "Jake, her room will be the one next to mine" he says looking at him, he then looks back down at me. "no way out now" he says with a smirk. I stare into his ocean blue eyes until he takes another good look of me before finally letting me go and walking away. The room stayed quiet until we heard his door close. "Okay what the hell just happened?" Katrina said. 'I- I don't know" Jake answers. " I guess he sees something in her" Tara adds. "Lets just carry on with the night, Aurora wanna drink." Sam asks. I nod my head yes and we did exactly what he said.

"come on Aurora lets get you to bed, we're so fucked up right now." Tara says slurred. "what about you." she pushes me on the bed. "Jake didn't drink, he can drive me, ill be fine, but you need to sleep, goodnight." I wave to her before knocking out.

I wake up with the worst hangover I've ever had. "fuck me".

"Sure"

I look over at the door and see Colby. "Come on, lets get you a pill" I get up and follow him downstairs to the kitchen. "Where is everyone?". He opens up a drawer looking through it. "Home." "Wait I thought they lived here with you?" He nods his head no. "Just you and me."

He drops a pill in my hand and hands me a water bottle.

"thank you" I say taking the pill and swallowing it with water. "So why we're you out on the streets"
