Chapter 4

when we got there we saw Katherine looking pissed and Devin looking worried I walked over to Kat and hugged her Deacon did the same,

"So what's the damage doc?" I asked the middle aged tired looking doctor,

"Just a deep flesh wound we stiched it up and gave her strong pain killers other than that she will be just fine"

"Yeah I might be but the idiot who shot me won't be when I get my hands on him" Devin looked tired he picked her up and started heading towards the exit,

"Come on baby let's get you to the motel"

We arrived at the motel and Kat was asleep in the car Devin picked her up and Carried her to her bed he laid her down and placed a soft kiss on her forehead then he turned to us,

"I have an theory"

"Ok let's hear it"

"Its defiantly the shifter and his target is Kat for some reason, we need to take it out before it hurts her even more"

"Ok we'll start searching for clues"

*Devin*POV

Deacon and Carrie left a while ago to search for clues on who and where the shifter is, I was so scared when the shot was fired and Kat was hit I need to find that son of a bitch and blow its head clean off his shoulders for even thinking of hurting someone I care about, I watched her while she slept she looked so peaceful like she was not just shot at a few hours ago, after two more hours Deacon and Carrie came back looking tired,

"Did you find something?"

"Only the gun it shot her with in a dumpster behind the diner"

"That doesn't help at all"

They only shook their heads,

"Ok let's all get some sleep and continue the search tomorrow"

They nodded and Carrie went to the bathroom Deacon left to get our bags from our room, I kicked of my shoes and got in bed behind Kat, pulled her against my chest so I can feel her near me and know she is safe, Deacon came back and got in bed with Carrie, I woke up to someone poking my cheek I opened one eye and saw a pale looking Kat,

"Wake up my arm hurts"

I looked at her arm and saw blood seeping through the bandage I sat up and slowly started to take of the bandage she whimpered and bit her bottom lip that sound coming out of her mouth tore through my heart when the bandage was off the blood was too thick so I couldn't see what's wrong I yelled,

"Carrie wake up and bring me a wet towel!"

She quickly jumped up and looked around when she saw Kat's arm she jumped into action and ran to the bathroom Deacon got up walked up to us and sat down next to Kat she laid her head on his shoulder,

"It hurts Deac"

"I know Kat just hold on ok?"

She nodded and Carrie came back with the towel and I started to slowly and gently wipe away most of the blood,

"Oh no"

Deacon looked over at me,

"What's wrong?"

"She tore open all of her stitches I'll have to take her back to the hospital to get it redone"

She lifted her head up and gave me the famous Kat's 'oh hell no' look,

"I'm not going back Carrie can stitch me up she's done it before" we all looked at Carrie she looked kind of pale and shocked,

"Uh I guess I can"
