Some additional scenes/ideas
...
A few minutes later
Just as they finished their ice cream they heard a knock on Andrew's apartment door. Meredith saw him looking a little confused before he quickly turned to his phone and turned it on to look at it.
"Oh no. It's Carina. I totally forgot about her." He sighed and then turned towards Meredith "She had started to come over once a week since my diagnosis. And... I think she noticed that I wasn't feeling so well." He explained having noticed Meredith's slightly confused expression.
"Andrea." They heard Carina from the door again, this time calling him.
"I think you should let her in before she runs in that door." Meredith had to chuckle slightly.
And then Andrew got up to open the door. As he was just about to leave the room he stopped, turning towards her again as if he had just remembered something.
"Uhm. Are you sure?" He looked down at himself and then at her, mustering her, making Meredith look down at herself as well, noticing that she already had her night clothes on.
"Uhm... Let her in." She chuckled slightly at herself getting up from his bed as well. "I'll just put a pullover over."
"I can tell her that it isn't a good time right now. She will survive it." Andrew offered her with a small smile.
"No, it's okay. She's your sister. Let her be there for you." She answered, trying to find his eyes, giving him a smile in return.
"Okay. Thank you."
.
"Hey. What took you so long? Why are you already in your pajama-" Carina started as soon as he opened the door and only stopped when she saw Meredith a little further away behind him. "Oh. Am I interrupting something?" She asked slightly amused, looking at her brother, raising an eyebrow.
"No, Carina, you're not." Andrew answered slightly annoyed, but still with a smile on his face before he opened the door a little wider for her to come inside.
"Hey, Carina." Meredith greeted her with a smile.
"I can come back another time..." She looked at both, still amused at the conclusion she had drawn of this situation, apparently not believing them.
"No." Andrew stopped her, looking at Meredith one more time to make sure it was okay with her as well, who gave him a slight nod before he added, turning towards Carina again "I want you to stay."
"Stay, Carina." She invited her with a smile on her face, when she saw her looking at her, wanting her to stay for Andrew.
.
"Okay, so are you still up for dinner?"
"We already had dinner." Andrew stated.
"We had ice cream." Meredith answered confused.
"Ice cream for dinner?" Carina raised an eyebrow at Andrew.
"Better than nothing." He tried to defend himself.
"You lied to me. You said you already had dinner." Meredith said disbelievingly, while chuckling slightly at the same time.
"I didn't lie. I just didn't answer your question." He tried to talk himself out of it.
"Andrew."
"Andrea."
"Okay, this is going to be an interesting evening." He had to laugh at Meredith and his sister trying to scold him at the same time.
"Don't do that again." Meredith said hitting his chest slightly, making Carina laugh at them.
"I will make some proper dinner." Carina answered after looking at them for another moment before she went inside the kitchen.
...
Carina made dinner, they ate and talked etc. And then Andrew got up to get a photobook.
"Is he okay?" Carina turned towards Meredith, asking slightly worried.
"I think he wants to be okay again. He's trying. But I'm sure he will tell you soon."
"Thank you for being there for him."
Meredith nodded slightly before she added a little lighter "But I would like to hear more of those stories."
"Oh, I can assure you, I have a lot more to tell."
They chuckle.
"You two laughing like that can't mean anything good." Andrew came back with the photobook and they go through some old happy memories.
...
Some time later they went to sleep, Andrew and Meredith in his room and Carina was sleeping on the couch.
When Meredith woke up the next day, she heard Andrew and Carina talking in the living room.
Andrew told her that he wasn't feeling well at the moment and that he was struggling.
Andrew and Carina talked about him wanting to keep fighting, but sometimes also having the feeling to want to give up. Also that he was feeling a little better the past two days because he wasn't alone with that feeling anymore and that this helped him, but also that he was still struggling.
Carina told him that she would also be there for him.
And then Carina started to talk about Meredith.
"I love her, I just don't think I'm ready yet. There is still so much I'm struggling with and I want to get better."
Meredith heard them and gave them more space to talk in private. But she had to smile when she heard Andrew say that.
...
Carina left a little later, Andrew hugged her goodbye and then he turned towards Meredith again and embraced her.
"Thank you, Mer. For everything." He whispered, pressing a kiss into her hair.

As I said this is just an additional chapter with a few more ideas... Maybe one day I'll re-write (or better said complete) it... But for now that won't be the case... Also, if anyone wants to write these additional scenes or write something similar, feel free to do so :)
I hope you liked it!
