"It's going to be just like old times!" Stacey squealed when I parked the car in front of the Astigo hotel, that we used to visit every summer with our parents when we were kids.
Yea, except for the fact that you and Thomas are dating now and I'll just be third-wheeling. Great.
"Stop pouting Lexie, you know it's gonna be fun!" Thomas assured me as he carried Stacey's bags up the stairs.
"Whatever." I muttered and started making my way up the stairs, which wasn't as easy as it sounds, considering I was carrying a bag on my bag, and two other ones in my hands. Maybe aunt Annie was right, I shouldn't have packed that much.
I walked to the reception to get my keys, Stacey and Thomas nowhere in sight, so I just assumed they were already in their room. Yay to having a room all alone. Soo much fun!
"Hi, I'm Alexa Foss, could I have my keys please?" I say to the woman at the desk (I think her name was Lily?)
"Lexie, of course! Look at you, all grown up!" Lily says, recognizing me from all the summers I spent here with my parents. I just awkwardly smile at her, because really, what do people even expect you to say to that? Yea, you got a couple more wrinkles too.? I don't think so.
"So you're here with Stacey and Thomas?" She asks me.
"Yup." I say, really just wanting to go to my room and rest.
"Your keys, sorry. You are probably quite exhausted after the car ride, aren't you?" Lily asks while she looks for something, I'm hoping the keys.
I just nod, hoping she gets the clue that I'm not in the mood to talk. She finally hands me my room keys, and I see that I'm in the same room we always used to be in. I thank Lily and get to my room, which luckily isn't far from the reception, so I don't have to carry my bags far anymore.
In my room, I drop my bags on the floor and drop myself on the couch. I look around and realize that everything looks just like it did three years ago, when I last came here. Although the couch isn't as comfortable to lie on as it used to be, considering my legs were a lot longer now than they used to be and were hanging off the other end of it.
I wake up from the sound of someone (I guess Thomas or Stacey) walking into my room.
"What do you want?" I shout, not in the best mood considering I just woke up from a really nice nap. The sounds fall silent and I'm already beginning to think I just imagined them, when am unfamiliar boy walks in.
"I should be asking you that, this is my room?" He says. I think I look just as confused as he does.
"It's not, obviously." I respond and hold up my keys.
He responds by holding up his keys, too and they have the same #4 key chain as mine does.
I let out a frustrated sigh and finally get up from the couch to walk past him. "Where are you going?" He asks.
"The reception, duh. You're getting another room." I say and walk out of the room and the boy follows me. I do realize I'm acting like a bitch, but frankly, I don't care. It's not like I'll see that boy again after this holiday. Also, I just woke up, I actually couldn't be nice if I tried.
"You mean you're getting another room." He argues.
"Surely not, I got here first." I snap.
"That really-" He starts but I cut him off as I spot Lily at the reception.
"Lily!" I call out and walk up to her.
"Is there a problem?" She asks smiling and looks at the both of us, obviously oblivious to the situation.
"There is, actually. You gave him the keys to my room." I tell her and point at the boy.
"Oh, I'm so sorry Lexie! Hold on a second." She says and types something into the computer. "Oh dear." She mutters.
"What?" The boy asks.
"There is no other room available at the moment." She admits. "Do you think you could share the-"
"No." I cut her off. Yes, I didn't want to have a room alone but sharing one with a stranger? I'd rather not.
"I'm sorry but it's the only way." Lily says. "You'll both only pay half the price, of course."
I don't care about the fucking price, Lily. I just don't want to share my room with someone I don't even know, okay?
I walk back to my room, frustrated. That's definitely not how I saw this holiday going. I start unpacking and remember that there is only one closet. Amazing. Where am I going to keep my underwear? Where is he going to sleep? Because I'm taking the bed, and as stubborn as he was before, he'll probably want to sleep in the bed too. Ugh, this is so messed up.
"I'm sleeping in the bed." I say as soon as he walks in.
He chuckles and says: "Great. Me too."
"You can sleep on the couch."
"Hell no I can't. It's too small, even for you." He smirks.
"Well, we can't sleep in the same room." I say, trying to sound strict.
"And why is that?" Because I didn't bring PJ's, I was going to sleep in my fucking undies you idiot.
"Because.." I trail off and pretend to be busy putting my clothes in the closet. "Uhm, because I'm not sleeping in the same bed with someone I don't even know the name of."
"It's Harry. Any other problems?" Harry smirks. Though he doesn't give me any time to think as he walks ino the bedroom and closes the door behind him.
