There had been a sudden blizzard, and that had caused Gilbert to stay overnight at Matthew's house until things cleared out. And it seemed like that would be a while, but anyways... They had fallen asleep in the "awesome" fort they built, and continued sleeping until later into the morning. And as usual the days with Gilbert would make it much more.... Interesting, and for Matthew especially.

"Gilbert. What happened!?" Matthew nearly screamed as he woke up. They were both covered in pillows and blankets from the now fallen fort that they had fallen asleep in. And what was most interesting, Gilbert was completely laying on top of Matthew.

"Ugh... Sorry Mattie!" Gilbert groaned as he struggled to get up off of him. When he got up, he began to shove the pile off of them. It happened to be that almost everything in the room was a mess at the moment, after Gilbert came over to it of course. Matthew shakily stood up, stretching.

"Ok, that was not the best way to wake up!" Matthew giggled and began to search for his glasses.
"Gil, how do you even manage to make such a mess!?"

"Hmm.... Well the answer is obvious!" Gilbert began as he jumped into the mess of blankets and pillows. He grinned mischievously as Matthew looked around, confused to where Gilbert went, and unable to see, obviously. Then Gilbert stealthily sneaked up behind him and-

"ITS BECAUSE I'M AWESOME!" He yelled, causing Matthew to jump and scream.

"G-Gil! Don't do that..." Matthew whined, falling backwards. His curl bounced a little as he flopped onto the couch. "And I still can't find my glasses!" He said panicking a little, looking down at the floor. Sadly he had such bad eyesight.

"Heh sorry you can't handle my awesomeness! Here I'll find your glasses!" Gilbert laughed and picked up Matthew's glasses, which happened to be in the pile, and gave it to him. Matthew smiled and put them on, standing back up and looked at Gilbert.

"So... What now?" Matthew asked as he looked around. "We don't exactly have much to do here." Gilbert looked at him cluelessly, being trapped in the house definitely left less things to do. But at least that ment that they can hang out longer, to both of their luck.

For a few minutes, they just stood in silence, thinking of possible fun ideas. Then Gilbert suddenly jumped up, nearly startling Matthew again.

"I have a great idea!" He yelled out excitedly, grinning at his new plan. Matthew looked up expectantly, but then remembered who he was talking to.

"Heh, I'm curious of what you could even think is a good idea, Gil." He said giggling. Gilbert let out a snort, holding back a laugh. Geez, Canadians being polite and shit must be a major stereotype, Gilbert thought.

"Well, you're talking me, of course it's not a good idea! It's an AWESOME idea!" Gilbert said while laughing loudly. Matthew smiled and rolled his eyes.

"Yeah yeah, I can tell it is. So what is your awesome idea?" Matthew asked.

"Do you have any scary movies? Cause I think it would be awesome if we could watch one!" Gilbert said, grinning. He knew how scared the Canadian gets. And as expected, Matthew's eyes widened a little as he let out a nervous laugh.

"Y-yeah I do. So I'm guessing you want to watch one?" He said shyly, knowing his weakness. He didn't want to look like a fool getting so scared... Especially in front of Gilbert.

"Yep, and you better have good ones!" Gilbert said as he plopped down on the couch. Matthew sighed and walked over to the TV, turned it on and put in a random scary movie he happened to find in the pile of DVDs. Hopefully it wasn't too intense.

Matthew and Gilbert were soon sitting close together on the couch, in the dark room as the previews began to start. Matthew didn't bother to skip them, he wanted to talk instead. He turned to Gilbert, who was grinning excitedly.

"So what's this movie about anyways?" Gilbert asked as the previews continued. Matthew just shrugged and looked around nervously.

"Umm, I sorta didn't check..." He admitted, speaking a little more quiet then his usual quiet voice. Gilbert stared at him questionably, but didn't say anything. He knew something was up with Matthew.

Matthew was thinking of the weirdest thing at the most unusual time, and he honestly wanted to talk to Gilbert. He just had to think of the right time and how to say it. Matthew facepalmed, remembering that he had a chance the other day but forgot to ask!

A few awkward and silent minutes passed, and Matthew finally decided what to say. But when he opened his mouth to speak, the movie began to play. Gilbert let out a loud, "Fuck yeah!" while Matthew just stared ahead, regretting that he had agreed to this movie. Gilbert looked over and realized the look on Matthew's face.

"Hey Mattie," Gilbert began. "You can snuggle or whatever with ze awesome me if you get scared!" He said, pulling Matthew closer. Matthew smiled, suddenly liking the idea of the movie, as long as Gilbert was there for him. Matthew's chance to speak can wait.

~Time skip of awesome girly screaming of Gilbert~

Gilbert and Matthew clung on to each other while shaking, turning off the TV. Well, sleep didn't seem like an option anymore. They sat there for a few moments, catching their breaths.

"Never. Again." Matthew said shakily, still clinging onto Gilbert. He now understood how his brother Alfred got so scared on these kind of movies.

"So... Want to talk about not scary things?" Gilbert suggested (refusing to sound scared but obviously failed) as they began to try to relax a little. Matthew looked up at Gilbert, finally having his chance to speak.

"Hey Gil? I actually have something important to ask you..." Matthew began nervously. Gilbert noticed that Matthew was blushing, and the fact that Matthew was clinging on to him even tighter.

"What's up Matthew? Is everything ok?" Gilbert asked softly. Matthew wasn't making any eye contact, just like when they have first met. That same look on his face. It looked like... What did it look like? Fear...? Gilbert thought. Then Matthew had let out a small sigh and began to speak.

"Well... I've been wondering this since I slept over at your house, and well, umm... I know this is at a bit of an unusual time..." Matthew's voice trailed off as he looked up shyly. It took a few moments until he finally said, "I- I'm wondering why you kissed me."

"O-Oh." Gilbert said, feeling his heart skip a beat. He did want to admit his feelings towards Matthew... But all he could just do is stare at him. When Gilbert didn't answer, Matthew just let out a small sigh and looked down again. He already began to regret asking such an awkward question. And also he felt so... So sleepy! But then Gilbert took a deep breath and began to speak softly.

"Matthew, one of the reasons why I kissed you was because... Because you have always seemed so lonely, and I wanted you to feel special. And awesome because it's from me, and you're awesome too!" Gilbert explained quickly. Matthew suddenly yawned, leaning on Gilbert's shoulder. Matthew was smiling, and he seemed really tired too.

Oh mien Gott he looks so fucking adorable! Why can't I just tell him!? Gilbert thought, as Matthew fell asleep, cuddled up next to him and calmly smiling. Gilbert knew he would get his chance one day, but for now saying it out loud wouldn't hurt.

"The other reason is because I love you." He said, only wishing Matthew could have heard. But at least they were both happy.
