I own absolutely nothing.
When I awoke I was greeted to a sight I never thought I would see again. The sight of my bedroom brought many of my memories to mind. The time I spent outside of Orario in my early childhood was an amazing one. My grandfather and I were farmers but we were able to live comfortably and have lots of fun. I remember going on exploration adventure in the forest with the other village kids and sightseeing all the amazing nature. Later in the afternoon when I would arrive back at our house, my grandfather would tell all the amazing stories of heroes.
As I gathered my thoughts, I sat up and decided to look for my grandfather. Just as I was about to reach his room I saw the calendar. Today was the day he disappeared never to be seen again. I was going to open his door to take a look at his gift before I heard a knock on the door. I opened the door to reveal Derrick our neighbor.
"Bell I have some news for you. Is it okay for me to come in?" Derrick asked.
Knowing I had to act ignorant to the situation I nodded happily and quickly let him in. I then led him to one of the tables and offered him a drink to which he declined. I sat on the chair only for him to stand up and come to my side. Before I could say anything he got down to my eye level and began speaking.
"Bell what I am about to say may come off as unbelievable. I want you to know that all of us will be here for you every step of the way. It's not easy to say this and it may be even harder to truly get a grasp on Bell." Derrick began. "Your grandfather was found to be missing this morning with only this book left behind."
Derrick then handed me said book. Even after having already gone through this experience, seeing said book brought a fresh set of tears to my eyes. Dungeon Oratoria was our favorite book and my grandfather spent hours entertains me with its story. All the memories involved in that book brought more tears.
"I'm sorry to say this Bell but we believe your grandfather was killed by goblins. We saw a pack running around earlier and we believe they ambushed your grandfather while he was out for a walk." And with those words Derrick gave me a hug and held me for an extended period of time.
After a while I was able to calm down and only spoke with Derrick for a few more minutes. After asking for some time alone he left to attend to his duties but promised to drop by later in the afternoon. After he left I recollected myself and headed to my grandfathers room. Once there I looked under his bed and retrieved a rather long box. I set the box and opened it to see a note sitting on top of a long black cloth.
"Bell if you receive this note then it means I have sadly passed away after out fight with the One-Eyed Black Dragon. Your mother and I have been extremely grateful to have had you in our lives and we will be saddened if we are unable to have watched you grow up. Underneath the black cloth is a special sword that I have wielded throughout my adventuring days. It is an unbreakable sword passed down from generation to generation in the Cranel Family. I wish you the best of luck in wielding it and I hope you have great success with it. Know your mother and I have always loved you Bell. - Your loving Father"
With tears in my eyes I lifted the black cloth and gasped at the sight. Inside was a beautiful white rapier. The handle featured a unique family crest with the word Cranel beneath. The handle itself was a crimson color very similar to my own eyes. Along the brilliant white blade was the engraving "Elpízo" (Hope in Greek). Next to the blade itself was a white scabbard with the same family crest that rested on the hilt of the blade. I attached the scabbard onto my back and sheathed Elpízo so that its handle sat above my right shoulder. After having reached the deeper levels I had asked Aiz to help train me to wield a sword. It had become increasingly difficult to get close enough to an opponent with only a knife. After that a sword became my main weapon while I used my Hesta Knife with my Argonaut skill.
