Ariadne flinched when cold lapped up against her feet. In confusion, she looked down and ignored her throbbing head. At the water from an unknown ocean, sand under her hands. A chilling breeze was in the air, making this place have an evil vibe. She seemed to be on a beach that was off of a thick, jungle-like area. For a second she thought she was dreaming, but that was determined as untrue when the tiny prick of pain on her arm appeared. So this was real. And she didn't know where the hell she was. She obviously wasn't anywhere near home. HOME, that word stung in her head as she remembered that she no longer had one of those. She hung her head down in shame, but that was when she noticed something that made her heart stop.
Footprints formed in the sand traveled away from her, looking dangerously new. As if the feet that matched them had been there just mere moments before she woke.
Aria suddenly screamed as a rag was clamped over her mouth and nose, and when she inhaled in the slightest she immediately regretted it. Her eyelids became heavy again, and she slowly lost consciousness.
The last thing she remembered was being dragged across the sand by her ankle.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Searing pain flashed across her face as her eyes flew open. "WAKE U-oh, good. Finally awake I see." She tried to move her hand up to her face, but found that it was chained to the floor; she didn't really need to anyway, because she felt a trail of blood trickle from her lip and down her neck. Some entered her mouth and she angrily spit it out as she eyed the hideous man in front of her. Sporting a long red coat and a matching pirate hat, fancy boots with gold buckles, and his hateful sneer, this man was not one to be messed with. His large hooked nose and chin didn't really fit on his face, and neither did his thin mustache. His long oily black hair was in large curls, and tucked neatly at the back of his head. His grey eyes were like the eyes of the devil; evilly cunning, they were eyes that had seen many murders, all of which their owner had done himself. The most intimidating thing about him was his gleaming steel hook he had instead of a right hand. When he raised it up beside her face she could see the reflection of herself. "Who are you-u?" She tried not to sound afraid, but fear wouldn't be ignored that easily.
His sneer grew wider as he replied in a deep raspy voice, " Hook. James Hook." She grunted when he grasped the collar of her shirt and yanked her forward to be eye level with him. "Now, enough with all the bloody questions. Time for the real fun to begin." He unchained her arms and legs before pulling her up again. In one bony hand he gripped her shoulder, and his hook was pressed against her neck.
Hook kicked the back of her legs to make her move, but it only caused them to buckle. She fell to her knees, and in seconds his hand was at the back of her slightly torn shirt. "Get up, girl!" He shoved her out of the door and into the middle of a ship deck swarming with pirates. Two of them grabbed her and led her toward the side of the ship, where a wooden plank beckoned them with a cold hand. As a sharp rope was fastened around her wrists, she could hear Hook mumbling to himself. "Yes...we'll hang the girl over the waterfall so Pan will come to check it out. Then I can kill the both of them..." He noticed her glaring at him, and stomped over. Her fiery gaze never faltered. "Any last words, girl?" He smirked at how vulnerable she was in this situation.
"Yeah, I do. BURN. IN. HELL." She spit back. He growled and slapped her again. He gave a signal to a man that was by a lever. The man nodded and pulled it down. Aria was raised off her feet and dangled over the side of the ship. She made the mistake of glancing down at the raging waterfall below her.
"Oookay, definitely not a fan of this! You guys can bring me back no-"
The pirate let go of the lever for a second, and she suddenly dropped like a stone. When he grabbed it again to stop her, she screamed in both fear and pain. Hook and the pirates let out horrible laughs. Aria closed her eyes and waited for the end.
But instead of death, she heard another voice above her. "Oi Codfish!" Her eyes snapped open and she looked up. There was a boy who looked about her age, and he was floating in the air. He had short floppy brown hair, bright green eyes, and a devilishly handsome smirk. Ariadne had to question if she was high or something; there was an incredibly cute boy floating in the air above her head. Her conclusion came to being indecisive.
Hook's face flashed with anger before he formed a fake smile. "Ah, Pan! So happy you've finally decided to join our little party." The rope moved and she was dumped on the deck by Hook's feet. A small whimper left her lips as he grabbed a fistful of her tangly blond hair and pulled her up, his hook finding its spot against her throat.
For a second she thought she saw fury in the boy's eyes, but brushed it off as nothing. "Let the girl go, Hook." Oh finally! She was being saved!
Hook laughed quietly and lightly dragged the point of the hook across her neck, drawing some blood. "I don't think she's gonna go so easily, boy."
A deep growl came from Pan and in seconds his dagger was up by Hook's head. "I guess I can fight for her."
This was the first time she and Pan locked eyes. She felt slight chills run up and down her spine. Hook frowned, his sneer returning. "Good, so let's have at it!" And with that, she was thrown to the side and the battle began.
Ariadne staggered forward before tripping over a rope and falling into the arms of one of the pirates. "And what do we got here? A present for me, eh?" His grubby hand brushed her waist. She backed away as someone else threw a knife at her head.
She flinched and it lodged itself right next to her. The deck erupted with laughter and more were thrown. The boy-who has been very focused on beating his old enemy- stopped when he heard a shrill scream. He flew up to where Hook couldn't reach him and whipped his head around.
Aria stood still as she pulled out the dagger that had been embedded in her abdomen, and she stared at the blood dripping from it. She lazily but harshly threw it away, and it happened to strike an unfortunate pirate in the neck, he choked on his own blood.
She heard Pan yell to her. "Go to the plank and jump, I'll catch you! I promise!" The fear in her eyes was great, but she knew he would do it. Clutching her wound, she shoved through the crew and leapt off the side of the ship, along the waterfall.
Her eyes shut as she heard Hook's "NO!", before strong arms wrapped around her. "I've got you, love." Pan flew towards the island with her shaking body in his arms, and one hand pressed firmly against the stab wound.
It was a life or death situation now. And
Peter Pan, the boy who never grew up, had to get her to his camp before she died on him.
