Manhattan New York, 2021

Cold air wisps nearby the man, shivers sent down his spine as he walks the busy streets. Hands jammed in his sweatshirt trying to gain some sort of warmness from it. Bright yellow lights almost blinded him as he came closer and closer to his destination, the club. Shivering again he noticed his breath was visible from how cold it had been that night, well more like early morning.

Approaching the club he almost bumped into another person who stood at the entrance by the bouncer. His head was down and was trying to light a cigarette, one hand cupping above it stopping it from being unlit because of the wind.

Walking past after muttering a small "sorry" he reached the short line of 2 people.

Watching the people easily slip past the bouncer after giving him their ID's, it was now his turn. The bouncer was very intimidating, although he wasn't as tall as him he was still built more muscular. The bouncer could definitely could kick his ass with no sweat and put him in his place if he wanted to.

"Hey man..." He spoke friendly and grabbed the ID from the pocket of his sweatpants. Handing it to the bouncer who took it, quickly scanning through it then looking at him.

The bouncer gazed him up and down before scoffing.
"Whats up with the casual attire? Looks like you just went to the gym..." His New York accent was thick as he spoke to him.

"Oh yeah, I'm sorry it's just my friend is in there— he was supposed to be back at our apartment like 2 hours ago and I barely realized now. He's not answering any calls and I just want to get him from in there and make sure he's alright" He explained truthfully, although it did seem a tad bit like a weird thought out excuse to get in the club.

"I am sorry but I just don't think I can let you in today" the bouncer chuckled lightly, probably because he thought he was being dishonest.

"Please, I'm sorry if this seems inconvenient but I just really want to make sure my friend is okay, his name is Jake if that rings a bell"

This just got even more a reaction out of the bouncer, who seemed amused at this whole interaction.

"Kid, this club gets about 200 people walking in every night— the name Jake, especially one of the most popular names in our world isn't gonna ring anything" He laughed out.

"I'm sorry but tonight you aren't getting in, tough luck"

"Oh come on..." Jay pleaded once more before the bouncer just glared at him, over finding it amusing and now finding him annoying. "Leave now" his voice was less playful now.

"No, let him in"

A voice spoke from beside Jay, it was another man's voice. He spoke much softer than the bouncer, but still carried this intimidation factor.

It was the guy he almost bumped into.

Turning around to now fully see what the man looked like, meeting his gaze, it felt tense.
