Chapter 3. Betrayal

I walk towards the chained, scared, and helpless people.
"Are you alright?" I ask the three
"Chained up, scarred, hungry, blind, but hey, I'm alright!" The man says.
"Don't be an ass, sorry about him, he's a bit angry at-" she started, but was interrupted when the other girl picked up a blade from a downed man an broke from her bindings, then quickly going over to the man and slitting his throat. Blood pouring from his mouth and neck, she cut the chain connecting them and started running off.
"URBAN, stay with the girl!" I command as I rush after the runner. As I got close I heard her talking. 'Shit, she's a spell caster!' I instantly roll to the left and avoid being burned to a crisp, from the fire that suddenly spewed from her mouth. As I roll I extend my legs, vaulting Into a flip and tumble to the backside of a tree. I breath deep twice. Never having someone teach me about spells is really biting me in the ass right now, that's my new goal, find a mentor.
My instincts scream at me to run, so I roll forward, away from the tree, just as a huge fireball engulfs the tree, I circle round, dashing towards her. She is closing in on a cliff side. I whistle loudly. Seconds later I hear the screams of a girl, presumably from riding Urban. Still dashing towards the girl, I see her jump. Off and soar for a second before she begins falling, I sprint forward and leap off the cliff side, plunging 30 feet before I can hear curses being yelled in my right ear. I reach out with my right hand, grab the elks antler, pull my self onto the back side of Urban, and brace my self for the landing. I feel Urban change as his fur rolls over us. We hit the ground, Urban spinning like a ball, his fur protecting us from certain death. His fur rolls back and I hop off, the girl looks like she's gonna be sick, but I focus on the task at hand. I see the girl I'm chasing float down with a pink orb around her. I start dashing towards where I think she shall land. The orb fades away leaving her to hit the ground running. As I get close, I hear her talking again, so I put on a burst of speed and leap right over her, rolling into the fall, I leg sweep her sending her crashing to the ground in front of me. She groans and looks up, but all she sees is the bottom of my boot, knocking her into unconsciousness. I take gups of air and relax, Urban comes over with an asleep girl on his back. I tie them both down and put a bag on the runners head, as a pre-caution. I pat his neck twice and he calmly lays down, the girl wrapped in his tail and the runner under his gigantic paw. I start walking for the cliff to start climbing, all to get the equipment I left behind. As I start scaling the cliff side, I realize that there is more to these girls then meet the eye. I'm going to have to be careful with them, just careful in general. Something is changing.
