a lightning draw its desired line on the sky before thunders clap beneath the ground. At the same time, a certain brown-haired girl shrieked as she clutched on the strap of her black bag. she always hated thunders and lightning, except when she's cuddled with her cat under her blankets, with a faint smell of hot chocolate beside her bed.
she ran through the unfamiliar school hallway, her brown uniform boots making loud click clacks as her feet hit the ground simultaneously. she grows anxious after realizing that it has been almost half an hour of her running in circles and yet, she still haven't found her classroom.
everything made her feel nervous, the slippery ground and the deafening sound of raindrops caused her heart to beat way faster and harder than usual. the current aura of her surroundings brought nightmare in her head, if only her mother didn't force her to attend school, she would still be in her bed, less nervous.
she was homeschooled for the last four years, and it wasn't a bad thing for her. she prefers reading and learning things alone and for the past four years, she never really considered attending university again for some reasons.
after looking through seemingly endless closed doors, she finally found a door with a large "2-B" that was carve on the upper center. She brushed her messy brown locks with her cold fingers before knocking on the door. the barrier opened in a second and she was greeted with gloomy students and an old hairless man in a white polo shirt and tacky black pants. the man gestured her to come inside and she couldn't help but to look around as she step a foot inside.
"she will join this class until the end of the school year, treat her the way you treat your classmates."
the professor then looked at her, he tapped her shoulder before nodding his head towards the class. she didn't know what he meant by that and she looks back and forth from him then to her now classmates.
"i'm y/n akahi, 16 and was previously homeschooled"
the whole class remained silent, their faces still screams "you're unwelcome here". however, y/n made her way towards the empty desk beside a girl with a long black hair and noticeable dark eyes that seems to glow red when looked at, at a certain angle.
y/n's exhaustion caused her to not ponder about her classmates' first impression of her. she's too tired to think about anything now at all, including paying attention to whatever the old guy in the front is saying. she buried her face on her folded arms above her desk, not minding the disgust looks her classmates were throwing her. she's on her first day and yet, she really didn't expect it to be this boring.
--
the sky has now calmed a bit, gone the loud thunders and bright lightnings. y/n was woken with a sudden thud on her chair. when she looked up, she was greeted with a cheeky face that wore an annoying smirk. she looked at him, disgusted by how sweaty he was but she didn't have the heart to fight him, she just wants to have some good quality sleep. when she checked her surroundings, she overwhelmed for she was met with a different mood, far from when she first entered the room. students were gathered around tables, few of them are holding cards, most are watching, and some seems miserable.
the scenario caused confusion, not until she remembered that her mother enrolled her in a high class academy, where sons and daughters of influential and rich people, mostly politicians and businessmen go. however, it seems that her mother didn't have an idea what kind of academy it was.
all she can remember is that her mother told her that she have to attend the academy for her health. but she can't see how the place is "healthy" for her.
"it'll be good for your health darling, trust me"
she laughed internally, she finds it funny. none will make her feel better. y/n felt suffocated in the place, so she went outside with her bag, not minding the amused stares she's getting from ignoring the guy who kicked her chair. as she was walking through the hallways, which was now filled with noise and students murmuring, she couldn't help but feel uneasy. few can't intimidate her but a crowd can.
she felt like everyone was talking about her, but they weren't. she hates herself for being like that, thinking too much over something that doesn't even need to be paid too much attention of. It just felt new to her, it's been four years since she was last surrounded with people and now, she feels pathetic.
she walks with her head hung low until she was met with a door, a lot different from the others. curiosity ate her system that she knocked three times, but was answered by nothing.
She pushed the door a bit and to her surprised, it was open. Though it was a hard to see through the small space, she decided to kick it with full force. She dropped her bag to the floor as she was met by students that seems to be having a meeting. But what caught her attention is the female student with looped braids, stoic face, and eyes cold as ice.
