Chapter One • Jade and Daisie

It was a warm sunny day in Howe, no clouds to be seen. The weatherman said there was no rain today but there was a chance of snow. Snow, are you kidding me it's the middle of summer, why were they even talking about snow. Daisie sighs as she walks away to get ready for school, when her older sister comes into her bedroom.

"Hey Rose, can I wear that skull dress you bought the other day?" Jade asks while holding her towel around her chest.

I sigh and roll my eyes "You know I keep telling you to stop calling me Rose"

Jade smiles "But you know how much I love calling you Rose. You remind me of the flower and how gorgeous it is after all."

As I Blush I go over to my closet to find my skull dress that has to be her somewhere, I just bought it so couldn't have gone very far. Throwing my dresses on my bed, digging through everything I realized that I left it at Luna's house the day I spent the night. I turn to Jade "You can't, I left it at Luna's house the other day."

She looks at me confused "What do you mean you left it there? You wear it over to her house, how could you forget it there??"

"I wore her sweater and sports shorts home, we went hiking the other day. I didn't want to rip my dress hiking" I told her

'Whatever" as Jade turns around to go out of my room I grab her arm and whisper in her ear. "Do you really have to go to school with anything on, you look sexy without it you know"

She stops and stares at me "If mom hears you saying that, we will both be in trouble. Don't say that kind of stuff when mothers home"

Daisie, starting to get a bit irritated says "You know i was just joking around wasn't like I was saying hey Jade lets make out some more, so I can practice for Poe."

Jade walks over to Daisie putting her hand on her cheek "Oh sweet Rose you just want to taste my cherry lip gloss again don't you"

Not knowing what to say, both girls hear their mom scream in terror. Daisie runs past Jade to see what was wrong, as Jade throws on Daisie's house coat and runs down the stairs after her. As she runs down the stairs she hears Daisie say "seriously mom it's just a baby mouse, why are you so scared of it??"

She turns to Daisie "Get that thing out of my house now. It's disgusting kill it all i care i don't want it in this house"

Daisie turns around with the baby mouse in her palm, I won't let either of you kill this poor little guy, he's just a baby. As I start walking out the door Jade yells at me "Hey! Wait you cant let that thing live, it is a parasite.

Turning I snapped at her "How dare you even think of hurting this poor little guy he had no mother you can't just kill innocent creatures." Grabbing my school  bag on the way out the door "Don't wait up i won't be home tonight I'm going out with Poe"

At this point you can see Jade's face turn red in anger and jealousy. "Why are you even going out with him? I heard he had like six girlfriends. You don't need to be around that come home and watch a movie with me tonight we can even watch your dumb romances."

As always I stop to think maybe she is right, what if he is cheating on me. He never wants to be around me or let me come over when I'm not around. Poe was the kind of guy you would kind of skip school hanging out around the back door smoking weed. To me he was the sweetest guy I know, hell I've known him since kindergarten. He wasn't really into showing his girlfriend off to his friends or even letting me come over much but I was alright with that. I'm more of the shy and scared to say things kind of girl.

Turning back to Jade I said "Okay I'll come home tonight but i can't miss our date on Friday"

    Pulling her town up more Jade smiles "Thank-you i don't want to be home alone tonight, mom's working night shift again remember"

    Smirking, I giggled "Yah i remember, well I'm going to be late for school, Love you both. Bye mom see you at school Jade." still holding the baby mouse I walked to the back yard and put the little guy down at a trunk of the tree giving it a cracker. Watching it run away I hear my phone go off.

    Hey Babe I can't make it tonight i have to cancel I have to babysit my sister

    Thats fine don't worry ill just stay home and hang out with Jade

    Are you going to be at school today {Read}

    As I got to school I noticed that Poe hadn't even replied to my last message which honestly wasn't strange for him at all but always made me mad. Sighing I walk into the school to see Barbie walking into the classroom. Barbie was a snotty jock that hates everyone basically, she doesn't like this one girl in our class i mean no one does. Anyways that's a different story, As i walk into the classroom to sit at my desk i see her. I see Luna, my best friend, reading one of those muscle magazines again.

    I get it she's into exercising and keeping up with her boxing but give it a break for five minutes. Luna was talented in Boxing she loved it and staying fit was her priority but doesn't that really mean you have to read about it. I sit down in my desk as Jade sits besides me and says "seriously why do you keep looking at Luna, she just a stupid boxer you shouldn't even be friends with her"

    Looking over at her "what do you want me to say? She is my friend, she understands me. She knows what I'm going through."

    "Yah sure she does she using you Rose" whispering to me

    The teacher comes up to our desk "If you don't stop the talking you will be sent to the principal's office, know shut up and listen up"
